BIG BAD WOLFES, THE (A.K.A. PLEASE HOLD FOR FRANKIE WOLFE) (CBS) - Stephanie Koenig is set to star opposite Julie Bowen in the multi-camera comedy pilot as Maria, "Frankie's younger sister. Distracted, brittle, with a history of chronic anxiety, Maria is damaged but trying to be a good person. She comes to Frankie in a panic because she's become a foster parent and has decided, after 11-year-old Quinn (TBD) is placed with her, she just can't do it; so she leaves Quinn with Frankie and hopes for the best." BIG SKY/GOLDBERGS, THE/GOOD DOCTOR, THE/GREY'S ANATOMY/MILLION LITTLE THINGS, A (ABC) - The Alphabet has confirmed the aforementioned series have returned to production. (Variety.com)
CONAN O'BRIEN'S TEAM COCO PRESENTS: JAMES VEITCH: STRAIGHT TO VHS (HBO Max) - The streaming service has pulled the recently launched special from British comedian James Veitch "following a slew of rape and sexual assault allegations." (Deadline.com)
GILDED AGE, THE/UNTITLED LAKERS PROJECT (HBO) - Salli Richardson-Whitfield is set to direct episodes of both upcoming series as part of two-year overall deal with the pay channel. In addition, she'll serve as an executive producer on the former, helming four episodes. (Deadline.com)
HOT COUNTRY KNIGHTS (Quibi, New!) - Country music singer and songwriter Dierks Bentley is set to star in a 10-episode mockumentary series at the company about "the parody group he has fronted since 2015 with members of his road band." Bentley plays bandleader Douglas "Doug" Douglason and will executive produce alongside his manager, Mary Hilliard Harrington, and Critical Content's Jenny Daly and Tom Forman. (Deadline.com)
LINE OF DUTY (Acorn TV) - The U.K. drama has resumed production on season six following a lengthy production delay due to the pandemic. (Deadline.com)
TELL ME LIES (Hulu, New!) - Emma Roberts is developing a small screen take of Carola Lovering's novel as part of a first-look deal with the streaming service. Meaghan Oppenheimer is spearheading the project, which "tells the story of a young woman's obsession with a man who's good at being charming. When Lucy Albright arrives on the campus of her small college, away from her mother whom she's never forgiven for an act of betrayal in her early teen years, Lucy embraces college life and all it has to offer. But everything changes when she meets Stephen DeMarco, who has a mysterious past of his own. Their addicting entanglement will have consequences they never could have imagined." Belletrist Television's Karah Preiss and Matt Matruski will also executive produce and produce, respectively, alongside Rebelle Media and Refinery29. (Deadline.com)
