BOSCH (Amazon) - Gino Vento and Carlos Miranda will both recur on the show's final season as Mickey and Det. Chris Collins, two unspecified characters. (Deadline.com)
EINSTEIN (CBS) - The Eye is taking a third stab at importing the German police procedural. Lauren Gussis is behind the latest incarnation, which "centers on a roguish, out-of-the-box-thinking physics professor who happens to be the secret, illegitimate great-granddaughter of Albert Einstein. She begrudgingly partners with a Boston homicide detective to not only help solve the most puzzling of crimes, but also address the problems ever-present inside the institution of policing itself." Green Ribbon's Corinne Brinkerhoff and Tiffany Grant; Intrigue Entertainment's Tariq Jalil, Lucas Carter and Joe Wiggins; and Red Arrow Studios' Joel Denton and Shirley Bowers will also executive produce for CBS Studios. Michael Reisz and Andy Breckman were behind the other two takes in 2018 and 2019, respectively. (Deadline.com)
GOSSIP GIRL (HBO Max) - Laura Benanti is the latest bound for the revival series in a yet-to-be-revealed role. (Deadline.com)
HILLS, THE: NEW BEGINNINGS (MTV) - Filming on the show's second season is slated to resume next week in Los Angeles. (Deadline.com)
MASTERCHEF (FOX) - Filming on the series resumed this week in Los Angeles following its COVID-19-related shutdown back in March. (Deadline.com)
PEACEMAKER (HBO Max) - Steve Agee has been cast in "The Suicide Squad" spin-off series starring John Cena. He'll reprise his role of John Economos: "The character is a warden of Belle Reve Federal Penitentiary and an aide to Viola Davis' government character Amanda Waller." Agee also plays King Shark in the film. (Deadline.com)
PUBLIC FIGURES (Quibi) - Lil Yachty's proposed comedy series has found a new home at HBO Max. Ian Edelman is spearheading the project, which is "described as being about what it's like to be an aspiring influencer in New York City. Featuring an ensemble cast, the series follows a group of friends as they find themselves, lose themselves, experience epic failures and hard fought success, hook ups and break ups, and then do it all over again." Yachty, Brian Sher, Gregory Jones, and Quality Films' Kevin "Coach K" Lee and Pierre Thomas will also executive produce for Universal Content Productions. (Variety.com)
UNTITLED LEWAA NASSERDEEN PROJECT (Showtime, New!) - Lewaa Nasserdeen has booked a semi-autobiographical comedy at the pay channel which follows Omar and Reema, "a 30-something gay Arab son and his extravagant and 'complicated' mother, as they face divorce at the same time... and under one roof. While Omar is looking for ways to reconnect with his roots after his breakup, Reema is stepping outside of her cultural comfort zone for the first time in her life. Together this modern-day Arab Odd Couple are forced to confront a post-divorce reality while navigating adult ass whoopings, generational trauma, and their own co-dependent relationship." Skydance Television's David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Bill Bost will also executive produce. (Deadline.com)
ZOEY'S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST (NBC) - Jee Young Han and Felix Mallard will recur on the upcoming season as Jenna Kang, "Emily's (Alice Lee) wild child older sister"; and Aiden, "Zoey's (Jane Levy) next door neighbor growing up," respectively. (Deadline.com)
