GENERATION 56K (Netflix, New!) - Cattleya has scored an eight-episode commitment from the streaming service for a new Italian series which "revolves around a group of teens who in the late aughts were overwhelmed by the arrival of the internet on the threshold of adolescence." Francesco Ebbasta and Alessio Maria Federici will direct the front and back half of the order, respectively, which is being "made in collaboration with The Jackal, a collective of Italian comedians that launched on YouTube more than a decade ago." Shooting is already underway. No other auspices were given. (Variety.com)
GOOD DOCTOR, THE (ABC) - Co-star Richard Schiff and his wife, actress Sheila Kelley, have both tested positive for COVID-19. The duo are "believed to have contracted the virus outside of work" and "self-isolating, with the filming schedule reworked to accommodate their temporary absence." (Deadline.com)
GREATER GOOD (FOX, New!) - Mike Barker and Stoney Sharp are set to team for a potential animated comedy at the network which "asks whether the world is worth saving. Maybe? It's a workplace comedy about an international team of highly qualified but socially remedial misfits working and living in a hi-tech laboratory in the middle of rural Oklahoma. The characters must navigate petty office politics and challenging interpersonal relationships in order to band together and save the world... for the Greater Good." FOX Entertainment is producing. (Deadline.com)
NARCOS: MEXICO (Netflix) - Luis Gerardo Méndez, Alberto Guerra, Luisa Rubino and Bad Bunny (née Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) have all scored roles on the upcoming season. Méndez will play Victor Tapia, "a Juarez cop with a moral dilemma"; with Guerra as Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada, "an independent drug trafficker"; Rubino as Andrea Nuñez, "a young idealistic and ambitious journalist"; and Bad Bunny as Arturo "Kitty" Paez, "a member of Ramon Arellano Felix's gang called the Narco Juniors." Additional new regulars include: Alejandro Furth as Ramon Salgado, Lorenzo Ferro as Alex Hodoyan, José Zúñiga as General Rebollo, Diego Calva as Arturo Beltran Leyva, Kristen Lee Gutoskie as Dani, and Beau Mirchoff as Steve Sheridan; and additional new guests include: Yessica Borroto as Marta, Damayanti Quintanar as Hortencia, Manuel Uriza as Carlos Hank Gonzalez, and Markin López as Rogelio. OUTSIDER, THE (HBO) - The pay channel has opted not to proceed with a second season of the Stephen King-based series. Producer MRC is shopping the project elsewhere. "We enjoyed our collaboration with Richard, Jason [Bateman], Andrew [Bernstein] and the MRC team, and we wish them well in continuing the world created by the brilliant Stephen King," HBO said in a statement.
