(HBO Max) - The "Sex and the City" sequel series has tapped Samantha Irby as a co-producer; Rachna Fruchbom as a co-executive producer; Keli Goff as a supervising producer; and Julie Rottenberg and Elisa Zuritsky as executive producers. Michael Patrick King serves as showrunner. (Variety.com)
DOOGIE KAMEĀLOHA, M.D. (Disney+) - Mapuana Makia is the latest addition to the reboot series as Noelani, "Lahela's (Peyton Elizabeth Lee) fellow resident at the hospital." (Deadline.com)
GILDED AGE, THE (HBO) - The period drama has added the following to its ever-expanding cast in recurring roles: Sullivan Jones as T. Thomas Fortune, "born into slavery, who in the early 1880s becomes an influential member of the Black intellectual community in New York"; Linda Emond as Clara Barton, "a pioneering nurse, who founded the American Red Cross"; Michel Gill as Patrick Morris, "husband of Anne Morris and a banker and Alderman"; and Ward Horton as Charles Fane, "husband of Aurora Fane, a banker and Alderman belonging to the established American/New York upper class." PIECES OF HER (Netflix) - The streamer's adaptation of Karin Slaughter's best-selling novel has cast Gil Birmingham as Charlie Bass, "a protective family friend of Laura (Toni Collette) and Andy Oliver (Bella Heathcote)"; Terry O'Quinn as Martin Queller, "the charismatic, billionaire founder of pharmaceutical giant QuellCorp"; and Calum Worthy as young Jasper, "the eldest of the three Queller siblings, Jasper is tortured by his relationship with his billionaire father - torn between proving his worth to the Queller name and protecting the world and those he loves most from it." Slaughter, Charlotte Stoudt, Bruna Papandrea and Lesli Linka Glatter are executive producing alongside Minkie Spiro, Steve Hutensky, Casey Haver and Janice Williams. (Deadline.com)
POWER BOOK IV: FORCE (Starz) - Joseph Sikora, star on the latest spin-off series, has signed a first-look deal for his Black Fox Productions banner with the show's producer, Lionsgate Television. (THR.com)
PUNK ASS BITCH (Hulu, New!) - Comedian Chris Estrada is set to star in a new comedy pilot at the streamer about Julio Lopez (Estrada), "a punk ass bitch with a heart of gold, who goes out of his way to help everyone but himself. Inspired by the life and stand-up comedy of star, co-creator, and real-life punk ass bitch Chris Estrada, this cinematic half-hour comedy explores Julio's attempts to better his community, overcome his codependency issues with his family, and navigate working class life in South Central Los Angeles." Estrada also co-wrote the project alongside Jake Weisman, Matt Ingebretson and Pat Bishop, with Fred Armisen and Jonathan Groff also executive producing for ABC Signature. Bishop is also slated to direct. (Deadline.com)
RED WIDOW (FOX, New!) - Alma Katsu's forthcoming book is being developed for television at the network. In the project, "the lives of two female CIA agents become intertwined around an internal threat to the Agency's Russia Division as they navigate the mostly male world of intelligence." Katsu and Sarah Condon are executive producing for FOX Entertainment. The search is underway for a writer. (Deadline.com)
SHINING VALE (Starz) - Mira Sorvino and Merrin Dungey have both been cast in the Courteney Cox-led horror-comedy pilot. Sorvino will play Rosemary, "who is either Pat's (Cox) alter ego, a split personality, her id, her muse, or a demon trying to possess her." Dungey then is Kam, "Pat's oldest friend and book editor, a no-bulls**t straight talker who knows and loves Pat more than Pat does herself." (Deadline.com)
T.I. & TINY: FRIENDS & FAMILY HUSTLE (VH1) - Filming on the series has been put on hold after stars Tip "T.I." Harris and Tameka "Tiny" Harris "have faced a range of sexual abuse accusations, including trafficking, drugging and coercing women." "We are aware of the allegations, and while they are not connected to our show, we have reached out to T.I. and Tameka Harris, as well as local and state officials," an MTV Entertainment spokesperson said in a statement. "Given the serious nature of the allegations, we have decided to suspend production in order to gather more information." Said development is expected to push its previously announced spring premiere. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED GAMESTOP FILM PROJECT (HBO, New!) - The pay channel is developing a TV movie take on the much-publicized stock market surge, described as "exploring how a populist uprising of social media day traders beat Wall Street at their own game, turning the stock market upside down and shaking the financial world to its core." Andrew Ross Sorkin of TBTF Productions, Len Amato of Crash&Salvage, and Jason Blum of Blumhouse Television are among the featured auspices. (Variety.com)
WELCOME TO GEORGIA (CBS) - Taran Killam has signed onto the Elizabeth Hurley/Hannah Simone-led comedy pilot as Josh, "Penelope's (Simone) husband, father to their toddler son, Levi, and an airline pilot who loves his job. Josh is a bit more tolerant of Penelope's mother, Georgia (Hurley), and tends to cut her more slack." (Deadline.com)
WOKE (Hulu) - Anthony King has joined the Lamorne Morris-led comedy's second season as showrunner. He'll take over from Jay Dyer, whose exit was not further detailed. (Variety.com)
