CAL FIRE (CBS, New!) - Max Thieriot, Tony Phelan and Joan Rater are set to team for a new drama at the network in which "seeking redemption and a shortened prison sentence, young convict Bode Donovan joins a firefighting program that returns him to his small Northern California hometown, where he and other inmates work alongside elite firefighters to extinguish massive blazes across the region." The project, inspired by Thieriot's experiences, will also be executive produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and KristieAnne Reed of Jerry Bruckheimer Television for CBS Studios. FAUDA (Netflix) - Inbar Lavi, Mark Ivanir, Amir Boutrous, Lucy Ayoub and Loai Noufi have been cast in the Israeli series' 10-episode fourth season, production of which is underway. No character details were given. (Deadline.com)
GENTEFIED (Netflix) - Co-creator Linda Yvette Chávez has signed a multi-year overall deal with 20th Television where she'll develop new series projects on an exclusive basis. (Deadline.com)
HOOP DREAMS (New!) - Aaron Rahsaan Thomas is spearheading a scripted take on the landmark documentary film at Warner Bros. Television Group, "following two African American teenage boys in 1990s Chicago experiencing the privileges and pitfalls of being high school basketball phenoms at the height of the Jordan era, and the start of high school players turning pro." The project will also be executive produced by Hillman Grad Productions' Lena Waithe and Rishi Rajani, who recently signed a multi-year overall deal with the company, ending their run at Amazon Studios; the film's producers Steve James, Peter Gilbert, and Frederick Marx; and Playground Entertainment's Scott Huff, David A. Stern, and Colin Callender. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED JULIE BOWEN PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Emmy-winner Julie Bowen is set to star in a single-camera comedy for the network which "centers on Lulu Wallace (Bowen) who, after losing her PR business in a messy divorce, returns home for the first time in a decade to lick her wounds and help her father, an aging magician, save the storied Magic Manor from the brink of cancellation." Steve Basilone is behind the project, which has a put pilot commitment. Justin Willman and Bowen & Sons' Rachael Field will also executive produce for Universal Television, home to Bowen & Sons' newly signed first-look deal. Bowen was attached to star in the CBS pilot "Wilde Things" last season, which did not move forward to series. (Deadline.com)
