IRMA VEP (HBO) - The Alicia Vikander-led limited series has cast Vincent Macaigne, Jeanne Balibar, Lars Eidinger, Vincent Lacoste, Hippolyte Girardot, Alex Descas, Nora Hamzawi and Antoine Reinartz. Macaigne will play Vidal, while "the other newly announced cast members will play various crew members and actors on Vidal's remake of Louis Feuillade's 'Les Vampires.'" (Variety.com)
LAW & ORDER (NBC) - Hugh Dancy has joined the cast of the revival as a new character, an Assistant District Attorney. Additionally, Anthony Anderson is confirmed as returning as Detective Kevin Bernard. (Deadline.com)
MASS EFFECT (Amazon, New!) - Amazon Studios is nearing a deal "to develop a series based on the best-selling sci-fi video game franchise from Electronic Arts." No auspices were given. (Deadline.com)
MONARCH (FOX) - Jon Harmon Feldman has named showrunner of the country music series, replacing Michael Rauch. Said report suggests "there were some speed bumps hit during filming." (Deadline.com)
THIS FOOL (Hulu) - Michael Imperioli and Fabian Alomar will both recur on the Chris Estrada-led newcomer. Imperioli will play Minister Leonard Payne, "the founder of the gang rehab facility Hugs Not Thugs. He is fatherly, has a bit of a hair-trigger temper, insightful and pragmatic." Alomar then will portray Fabian, "a former gang member who Julio (Estrada) convinces to join the program at Hugs Not Thugs. At first skeptical, Fabian decides to sign up and becomes an active member of the organization." (Deadline.com)
TOM CLANCY'S JACK RYAN (Amazon) - The show's fourth season has tapped Zuleikha Robinson as Zeyara; Louis Ozawa as Chao Fah; and Okieriete Onaodowan as Adebayo "Ade" Osoji; while Derek Cecil will recur as Senator Morgan; and Nancy Lenehan as Senator Joan Henshaw. No other character details were given. (Deadline.com)
WASHINGTON BLACK (Hulu) - Ernest Kingsley, Jr. and Iola Evans have both been cast in the Esi Edugyan adaptation, about George Washington "Wash" Black (Kingsley) - an 11-year-old boy on a Barbados sugar plantation who must flee after a shocking death threatens to upend his life. Evans then will play Tanna Goff, "a young British woman of means 'passing' as white but secretly born of a Melanesian mother on the Solomon Islands." (Deadline.com)
