AWKWAFINA IS NORA FROM QUEENS (Comedy Central) - Co-creator Teresa Hsiao signed an overall deal with Sony Pictures Television where she'll develop new series projects on an exclusive basis via her Red 136 Productions banner. (Deadline.com)
DUNGEONS & DRAGONS (New!) - Writer/director Rawson Marshall Thurber has been tapped to spearhead Entertainment One's proposed live-action television series "based on Hasbro's wildly popular fantasy role-playing game franchise from Wizards of the Coast." No other details were given. (Deadline.com)
LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME (NBC) - Jennifer Beals is set to recur on the series as "the wife of a new antagonist that was introduced on the NBC series this season, Preston Webb (Mykelti Williamson), a drug kingpin in New York and the head of the Marcy Corporation." (Deadline.com)
PARTY DOWN LIMITED SERIES REVIVAL (Starz) - Jennifer Garner, Tyrel Jackson Williams and Zoƫ Chao have joined the cast of the revival series while James Marsden has also signed on for a recurring role. Garner will play Evie, "a successful producer of studio franchise movies, who, in the wake of a breakup, is reconsidering her life choices"; with Williams as Sackson, "a handsome, confident, driven, wannabe influencer/internet personality"; Chao as Lucy, "a passionate, outspoken, free-thinking creative 'food artist'"; and Marsden as Jack Botty, "an actor who plays the lead in a popular superhero franchise." SHRINKING/TED LASSO (Apple TV+) - Brett Goldstein has inked a multi-year overall deal with Warner Bros. Television, which will cover his writing/producing duties on both projects and his future development. On the acting side, Goldstein received the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. (Deadline.com)
TERROR LAKE DRIVE (ALLBLK) - Cynthia Bailey and Reginae Carter will recur on the horror anthology's second season as Rose, "a down on her luck single mom who resides in the ominous Freeman Lake Apartments"; and Keisha, "a fiery activist and key member of the BFM (Black Face Movement) and best friend to BFM's Queen and subsequent leader Nefertiti (Jennifer Sears), who along with the group's other members, reside in Freeman Lakes," respectively. UNTITLED MICHELLE NADER PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Michelle Nader has scored a pilot presentation order from the network for a hybrid comedy set in the world of witness protection. Its logline is as follows: "When two long-term best friends and city girls who had reached a fork in the road of their relationship are placed into the Witness Protection Program together, they are forced to reinvent themselves in the off-the-grid town of Doonesland. With a rising drug ring on their trail, they must make the best of a bad situation because it's life or death - literally." Nader will write, direct and executive produce for FOX Entertainment.
