ANNA K/NOTHING SPECIAL/RUSSIAN PSYCHOLOGICAL DRAMA/ZATO (Netflix) - The streamer has "halted production on all upcoming Russian-language series for the streamer and is pausing future acquisitions from Russia amid the ongoing invasion of Ukraine." Both "Anna K" and "Nothing Special" wrapped filming in December, while the untitled project "is in the process of finishing up shooting." No status was given on "Zato." (THR.com)
BLACK LADY SKETCH SHOW, A (HBO) - Skye Townsend has been promoted to regular for the third season of the sketch comedy series. (Deadline.com)
CAL FIRE (CBS) - Billy Burke and Kevin Alejandro will star opposite Max Thieriot in the drama pilot. Burke will play Bode's father, Vince: "A lovable pessimist, Vince is third-generation Cal Fire and the fire chief of the community of Middletown. A strong man who has fought many fires in his time, Vince is not about to give up and give in when a fire threatens to sweep into his town." And Alejandro will play Manny, "a proud father and fire captain in charge of prison inmates when they are on the fire line. He has the hard-earned wisdom of a man whose life was spiraling out of control before he turned it around. Cap sees potential in Bode - that is, until he catches wind of his big secret." DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW (The CW) - Co-star Nick Zano has confirmed his exit from the series after six seasons, following the events of tonight's season seven finale. (@nickzano)
FOUND (NBC) - Shanola Hampton has booked the lead role on the drama pilot, Gabi Mosley: "In any given year, more than 600,000 people are reported missing in the U.S. More than half that number are people of color that the country seems to forget about. A public relations specialist - who was once herself one of those forgotten ones - and her crisis management team now make sure there is always someone looking out for the forgotten missing people. But unbeknownst to anyone, this everyday hero is hiding a chilling secret of her own." She'll also receive an executive produce credit. (Deadline.com)
IMMIGRANT (Hulu) - Robin De Jesús will recur on the limited series as Ray Colon, "a proud Nuyorican from the Bronx who comes on the Chippendales scene as the resident handyman and self-proclaimed jack of all trades. Affable and eager-to-please, Ray reveres founder Somen "Steve" Banerjee (Kumail Nanjiani) and their growing friendship finds Ray in more than one compromising situation as the season progresses." NAILED IT! (Netflix) - Production on the show's Halloween-themed eight-episode seventh season was "suspended permanently a day after crew members went on strike to secure a contract with IATSE." It's understood the four finished episodes will still run on Netflix in the fall. (Deadline.com)
QUEEN SUGAR (OWN) - Shaz Bennett has been tapped as showrunner of the series' seventh and final season. Production is targeted to begin this month down in Louisiana for a fall premiere. (Deadline.com)
SIXTH GUN, THE (New!) - Selwyn Seyfu Hinds is spearheading a new take on Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt comic book series for Universal Content Productions as part of an overall deal with the studio. NBC and Universal Television were behind a previous small screen effort in 2013 with Laura Ramsey and Michiel Huisman in the lead roles. The pilot, from writer Ryan Condal and director Jeffrey Reiner, was not ordered to series. (Variety.com)
