AFTERPARTY, THE (Apple TV+) - John Cho is the latest actor bound for the show's second season. He'll play Ulysses. No other details were given. (Deadline.com)
AMBER RUFFIN SHOW, THE (Peacock) - Amber Ruffin and her writing/producing partner Jenny Hagel have signed an overall deal with the show's producer, Universal Television. There they'll develop new series projects via their newly launched Straight to Cards banner on an exclusive basis. (Deadline.com)
BIG SKY (ABC) - Recent guest star Jensen Ackles as well as recurring guest Jamie-Lynn Sigler have been promoted to regulars for the show's just-ordered third season. Ackles plays Beau Arlen, "described as a confident and charming good ol' boy from Texas who steps in as temporary Sheriff as a favor to his friend, Sheriff Tubb (Patrick Gallagher)." And Sigler is Tonya, "a waitress at a local diner whose boyfriend mysteriously disappears." (Variety.com)
CARNIVAL ROW (Amazon) - Executive producer Erik Oleson is launching a new banner, CrimeThink, as part of his current three-year overall deal with Amazon Studios. (Deadline.com)
FIRE COUNTRY (CBS) - Tia Napolitano has signed on to serve as showrunner of the new dama. She'll take over from Tony Phelan and Joan Rater, who shepherded the pilot. (Deadline.com)
GOOD DOCTOR, THE (ABC) - Executive producer Liz Friedman has been named co-showrunner for the show's sixth season. She'll serve alongside the series' creator David Shore. (Deadline.com)
MARRIED... WITH CHILDREN (New!) - Katey Sagal, Ed O'Neill, Christina Applegate and David Faustino are attached to a proposed animated revival of the former sitcom staple, which "follows the Chicago lives of Al Bundy (O'Neill), a misogynistic women's shoe salesman; his lazy wife, Peggy (Sagal); and their children, Kelly (Applegate) and Bud (Faustino)." Sony Pictures Television and writer Alex Carter are behind the project, which is being pitched to networks and streamers. Hulu and Peacock currently carry the original series. MARVEL'S M.O.D.O.K. (Hulu) - The streamer has pulled the plug on the animated series, one of the last outputs from Marvel Television, the defunct television division that was run by Jeph Loeb. (Deadline.com)
MRS. AMERICAN PIE (Apple TV+) - Leslie Bibb is the latest bound for the Kristen Wiig-led comedy series as Dinah, "a lovely, but vulnerable member of the high society." (Deadline.com)
NINE PERFECT STRANGERS (Hulu) - David E. Kelley's limited series is reportedly on track to return for a second season. No plot details were given. (THR.com)
RODHAM (Hulu) - The streamer has passed on its Curtis Sittenfeld adaptation, an alternative history where Hillary Rodham never marries Bill Clinton. Producer 20th Television is shopping the project to other outlets as Claire Danes and Dakota Fanning are reportedly attached to play Clinton at different stages of her life. Sarah Treem, James Ponsoldt and Warren Littlefield are among the featured auspices. (Variety.com)
SEAL TEAM (Paramount+) - Max Thieriot has closed a one-year deal to return for the show's sixth season. The actor also stars in the new CBS drama "Fire Country" which he'll begin after completing said season. (Deadline.com)
TEEN WOLF FEATURE-LENGTH FILM (Paramount+) - Tyler Hoechlin has closed a deal to return as Derek Hale in the streamer's upcoming "Teen Wolf" movie. He'll also receive a producing credit. (Deadline.com)
ZORRO (Amazon, New!) - Secuoya Studios' proposed reboot series of the masked hero has found a home at the streaming service with Miguel Bernardeau and Renata Notni set to star. The 10-episode project is written by Carlos Portela with Javier Quintas and Miguel Angel directing. David Martínez, David Cotarelo and Angela Agudo; John Gertz of Zorro Productions; Andy Kaplan of KC Global Media; Sergio Pizzolante of C&T Mobs; and Jesús Torres and Glenda Pacanins of NoStatusQuo Studios are the executive producers. Bernardeau will play Diego de la Vega, "a landowner and, in disguise, masked hero of the people"; with Notni as Lolita Marquez, "the love of his youth." (Variety.com)
