GREY'S ANATOMY (ABC) - Harry Shum, Jr. is the latest addition to the show's season 19 ensemble as Daniel "Blue" Kwan, who "is sharp-witted, impatient and brilliant. He is generous by nature but competitive to a fault, naturally gifted, and used to winning at everything. A family crisis interfered with his career plans and now he's got a lot to prove." (Deadline.com)
JEOPARDY! (Syndication) - Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings have named permanent hosts of the veteran game show going forward. (Jeopardy.com)
KUNG FU (The CW) - Ben Levin and Kim Rhodes are both bound for the upcoming season in recurring roles. Levin will play Bo, "a barista/vigilante who lives across the Bay in Oakland. He's cool, smart, and strong with a jack-of-all-trades fighting style. His extracurricular crime fighting leads to a collision with Nicky (Olivia Liang) and her siblings. New in town and far from home, Bo's eager to pitch in with the Shen family's adventures, and to fight by Nicky's side." And Rhodes will portray Carrie, "a blunt, funny professional who works as a representative for a large restaurant investment group. When Carrie's company takes an interest in Harmony Dumplings, Mei-Li (Kheng Hua Tan) is quick to decline their overtures, but when an unexpected friendship blooms between her and Carrie, Mei-Li opens herself up to a possible alliance." (Deadline.com)
LA MÁQUINA (Hulu, New!) - Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna are set to re-team for a new Spanish-language series at the streamer which "follows an aging boxer, played by García Bernal, whose crafty manager, played by Luna, secures him one last shot at a title. But to make it to fight night, they must navigate a mysterious underworld force." Writer Marco Ramirez and director Gabriel Ripstein are spearheading the project with García Bernal and Luna likewise executive producing via their La Corriente del Golfo banner along with Gerardo Gatica, Leandro Halperin and Adam Fishbach. (Deadline.com)
MILLION DOLLAR ISLAND (NBC) - The network has pulled the plug on the reality competition series in advance of its production start. The project was billed as a high-stakes social experiment in which 100 contestants must forge friendships and build alliances as they plot to stay on a remote desert island for up to 50 days and compete to win their share of the ultimate $1 million prize. Said report indicates "one of the factors behind the decision was the show's budget." Producers Studio Lambert and Talpa plan to shop it elsewhere. (Deadline.com)
