BIG CIGAR, THE (Apple TV+) - Jordane Christie will recur on the André Holland-led limited series as "Newton's friend and Black Panther Party co-founder, Bobby Seale, who bonded with Newton over repeated incarcerations and infiltration by the FBI before deciding to leave the party." (Deadline.com)
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN MURDER AND MAYHEM (Hulu) - Annie Q. Riegel has been tapped to recur on the upcoming 10-episode drama as Winnie. No other details were given. (Deadline.com)
DRIVER, THE (AMC) - Bonnie Mbuli has been cast in the Giancarlo Esposito-led drama as Shamiso Tongai, "the Horse's smart older sister. She's wary of strangers and protective of her family's operation, which she's intricately involved in with a voice that becomes more powerful as the story progresses." (Deadline.com)
FIRST LADY, THE (Showtime) - The pay channel has pulled the plug on the anthology series after one season. "Showtime can confirm that the anthology series The First Lady will not be moving forward with another season," a spokesperson for the network said in a statement. "We would like to applaud the artistry and commitment of our showrunner Cathy Schulman, director Susanne Bier, their fellow executive producers, our amazing cast - led by executive producer Viola Davis, Michelle Pfeiffer and Gillian Anderson - and our studio partner Lionsgate for their dedicated work in telling the unique stories of three remarkable leaders.
