Prime Video announces its new original Spanish production: Romancero

The series, starring Sasha Cócola and Elena Matic, is written by Fernando Navarro and directed by director Tomás Peña

LONDON, November 28, 2022 - Prime Video has announced its upcoming Spanish Original series Romancero, a supernatural horror story written by Fernando Navarro (Venus, Verónica) and directed by Manson Collective member Tomás Peña. Peña, known for directing music videos for artists such as Rosalía, C. Tangana, Katy Perry, Rauw Alejandro, Bad Gyal or Prodigy, will make his first foray into television fiction with Romancero.

Romancero brings together an eclectic cast of young promises and big names in cinema and television in Spain. The series stars the young Sasha Cócola (Roof and Food, Los hombres de Paco) and the actress of Serbian origin Elena Matic, who debuts with this fiction in our country. The cast is completed by Ricardo Gómez (The Substitute, Tell Me How It Happened), Guillermo Toledo (Midas' Favorites, Perfect Crime), and Goya Award winner Belén Cuesta (The Infinite Trench, The Call). This leading cast is joined by the Argentine actress Julieta Cardinali (El Reino, Maradona: Sueño bendito) and will have the special participation of Alba Flores (La casa de papel, Vis a vis).

Cornelia (Matic) is a girl whose childhood has been stolen. Jordán (Cócola) is not a child, nor is he a man. They are two stranded young men on the run from the forces of the law, powerful supernatural creatures, and themselves. Romancero is the story of this escape, of the persecuted and the persecutors, framed in a desert and cruel Andalusia, as real as it is mythical, during a nightmare night plagued by demons, witches and blood drinkers.

LONDRES, 28 de noviembre de 2022 - Prime Video ha anunciado su próxima serie Original española Romancero, una historia de terror sobrenatural escrita por Fernando Navarro (Venus, Verónica) y dirigida por Tomás Peña, miembro del colectivo Manson. Peña, conocido por dirigir vídeos musicales de artistas como Rosalía, C. Tangana, Katy Perry, Rauw Alejandro, Bad Gyal o Prodigy, hará su primera incursión en ficción televisiva con Romancero.

Romancero reúne a un reparto ecléctico de jóvenes promesas y grandes nombres del cine y la televisión en España. La serie está protagonizada por los jóvenes Sasha Cócola (Techo y comida, Los hombres de Paco) y la actriz de origen serbio Elena Matic, que debuta con esta ficción en nuestro país. Completan el reparto Ricardo Gómez (El sustituto, Cuéntame cómo pasó), Guillermo Toledo (Los favoritos de Midas, Crimen perfecto), y la ganadora del Premio Goya Belén Cuesta (La trinchera infinita, La llamada). Cornelia (Matic) es una niña a la que han robado la infancia. Jordán (Cócola) no es un niño, ni tampoco un hombre. Son dos jóvenes desamparados que escapan de las fuerzas de la ley, de poderosas criaturas sobrenaturales y de sí mismos. Romancero es la historia de esta huida, de los perseguidos y los perseguidores, enmarcada en una Andalucía desértica y cruel, tan real como mítica, durante una noche de pesadilla plagada de demonios, brujas y bebedores de sangre.
