AMERICAN PRIMEVAL (Netflix) - The Taylor Kitsch-led limited series has cast Betty Gilpin as Sara Rowell, "an extremely capable woman with an air of composure and grace that seems out of place in Fort Bridger as she seeks a guide across the frontier for her and her son, Devin"; Dane DeHaan as Jacob Pratt, "a Mormon leading his family across the frontier to join other settlers in Utah"; Shea Whigham as Jim Bridger, "a grizzled realist but a decent man, Jim Bridgers runs his namesake Fort, a popular stopping point for settlers and trappers"; Joe Tippett as James Wolsey, "a Mormon man leading a militia of men who don't possess the moral code they claim they do"; Jai Courtney as Virgil Cutter, "a trapper and bounty hunter who sees opportunity in the naiveté of others"; Kyle Bradley Davis as Tilly, "one of Cutter's trappers, Tilly is a nasty, dangerous man who doesn't mind killing to get ahead and rather enjoys it when others fear him"; Nick Hargrove as Cottrell, "a young man that helps out around Fort Bridger and serves as Jim Bridger's right hand"; Derek Hinkey as Red Feather, "the leader of a renegade group of Crow warriors known as the Wolf Clan"; Saura Lightfoot Leon as Abish, "a Mormon woman not content with being seen as the property of her husband, Jacob"; Preston Mota as Devin Rowell, "a sensitive soul with a curious mind, Devin is Sara's son"; and Shawnee Pourier as Two Moons, "a young girl who flees her village with a strong will and drive to survive at all costs." CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM (HBO) - Oscar winner Troy Kotsur will guest on the new season "as himself in one episode as a member of Larry David's golf club." (Variety.com)
EAST NEW YORK (CBS) - Thom Sherman and Mo McRae have both signed onto the freshman drama, which has also promoted consulting producer Ed Redlich to executive producer. Sherman will likewise executive produce alongside co-showrunners William Finkelstein and Mike Flynn while McRae will serve as supervising producer/in-house director on the series. The group succeeds Christine and Mark Holder, who were terminated following an investigation by producer Warner Bros. Television. (Deadline.com)
SUPERMAN & LOIS (The CW) - Michael Cudlitz has been cast as a new version of Lex Luthor in the upcoming third season of the series: "Lex is "known to the world as the visionary billionaire behind LexCorp, but secretly, the criminal underworld knows who Lex truly is: a brutal psychopath who terrorizes anyone he crosses paths with. When Lex debuts this season, it's been years since he dropped out of the public eye and he's re-emerging hellbent on correcting a personal injustice by enacting revenge on the two people he feels have wronged him - Superman (played by Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch)." Jon Cryer originated the role in its "Arrowverse" incarnation. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED JILL DANDO PROJECT (Netflix, New!) - The streamer has commissioned a new documentary series due later this year from Empress Films "about the life and death of popular U.K. television presenter Jill Dando, who was killed in 1999." The project is directed by Marcus Plowright and executive produced by Emma Cooper. (Variety.com)
