ERIC (Netflix) - Jeff Hephner is set to star alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in the limited series as Richard Castillo, "a charismatic, affluent politician who works for the Mayor's Advisory Council on Motion Pictures and Television." (Deadline.com)
SIMPLY GIADA (Food Network) - Emmy-winner Giada De Laurentiss has signed a multi-year overall production deal with Amazon Studios where she'll develop new unscripted projects. (Deadline.com)
SPIDER-MAN NOIR (Amazon, New!) - Oren Uziel is spearheading a live-action TV take based on the Marvel Comics hero, a "version of the iconic superhero [who] lives in New York during the Great Depression. He is bitten by a spider hidden inside a stolen artifact, causing him to have visions of a spider-god who grants him superpowers." Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal also executive produce for Lord Miller, Pascal Pictures and Sony Pictures Television. Nicolas Cage and Milo Ventimiglia both voiced the character in its animated incarnations. (Variety.com)
THOSE ABOUT TO DIE (Peacock) - The Anthony Hopkins-led gladiator drama has cast Tom Hughes as Titus Flavianus, "the elder son and of Vespasian and apparent heir to the Imperial throne"; Jojo Macari as "younger son Domitian"; Lorenzo Richelmy as "ambitious crime boss Tenax"; Sara Martins as "ruthless trader Cala"; Moe Hashim as "her son Kwame"; Gabriella Pession as "politician and ruthless patrician Antonia"; and Dimitri Leonidas as Scorpus, "the preeminent charioteer of the age." Additionally, Marco Kreuzpaintner has signed on as co-director and executive producer. (Deadline.com)
TULSA KING (Paramount+) - Terence Winter is stepping down as showrunner of the Sylvester Stallone-led series to focus on other projects after creative differences. He'll nonetheless remaining an executive producer. The search is underway for a replacement. (Deadline.com)
