CROSS (Amazon) - Author James Patterson has signed an exclusive first-look deal with Skydance Television, home to his upcoming Amazon adaptation. "Women's Murder Club" and "Michael Bennett" are among the featured titles being eyed for new TV incarnations, as are "Private," "Jane Smith" and "Holmes, Miss Marple and Poe." (Deadline.com)
DEVIL'S HOUR, THE (Amazon) - Saffron Hocking has joined the cast of the show's second season as Sam Boyd, "a detective sergeant who worked under DI Lucy Chambers (played by Jessica Raine) in a past life." (Variety.com)
DIARRA FROM DETROIT (BET+, New!) - Actor/writer Diarra Kilpatrick has signed an overall deal with BET Studios. First up: the aforementioned hour-long dark comedy, which has an eight-episode order, and "follows a divorcing schoolteacher with an acerbic sense of humor who refuses to believe she's been ghosted by her rebound Tinder date. Her search for the missing man pulls her into a decades-old mystery involving the Detroit underworld." Kenya Barris of Khalabo Ink Society and Miles Orion Feldsott also serve as executive producers with Erynn Sampson as a producer. (Deadline.com)
