By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!

BASKETBALL WIVES (VH1) - The cable channel has ordered an 11th season of the series due this fall. Evelyn Lozada, Jackie Christie, Jennifer Williams and Brooke Bailey are among those slated to be featured alongside new additions Brittany Renner, Vanessa Rider, Jac'Eil Duckworth and Clayanna Warthen. (Deadline.com)
DADDY BALL (Netflix, New!) - Actor/director Jason Bateman is back in business with the streamer for an eight-episode limited series based on David Gauvey Herbert's 2021 Esquire magazine article: "Determined not to follow in his detached father's footsteps, Bobby Sanfilippo found himself doing quite the opposite with his son. He became entangled in an epic travel baseball dad-on-dad rivalry with a man named John Reardon that led tabloids to call him "a Suffolk County Steinbrenner," "seriously sick," and one of the worst dads in youth-sports history. It starts in the world of Little League baseball and expands into a Beef-like war between two smalltime criminal fathers. Both Sanfilippo and Reardon have rap sheets of their own, but what went down in the summer of 2012 at Baseball Heaven will define them and their families forever. Stalking claims, threatening text messages, and an unwarranted arrest later at the heart of it all, it's a story about the lengths fathers will go for their sons." Michael Costigan and Roxie Rodriguez will also executive produce for Aggregate Films with David Klawans producing. (Deadline.com)
I, CHIHUAHUA!/UNTITLED JORGE R. GUTIÉRREZ PROJECT (Netflix, New!) - Jorge R. Gutiérrez is developing a pair of new animated projects for the streamer. First up is a "new limited series that will be set in the same mythological Mesoamerican universe as his 2021 hit Netflix series Maya and the Three and that of his 2014 animated feature The Book of Life." Also on tap is I, Chihuahua!, described as "basically a Street Fighter movie about a little Mexican Chihuahua dog who wants to be a Mexican wrestler." Alex Hirsch and Mike Rianda are working as consultants on the latter. (THR.com)
PROFESSIONALS, THE (The CW) - The network has passed on ordering a second season of the series. "The CW hasn't renewed us for a second season," co-creator Jeff Most told the publication. "However, we are shopping the second season of Professionals to other networks and streaming platforms." (TVLine.com)
