Between Love & Shadows: 'Hong Rang' to Unveil the Secrets of the Joseon Heir

Netflix announced the greenlighting of its latest period mystery melodrama, Hong Rang (WT). Dive deep into the enigmatic world of the Joseon era, brought to life by a stellar cast including Lee Jae-wook, Cho Bo-ah, Jung Ga-ram, and more.

Lee Jae-wook, with his versatile performances in Alchemy of Souls, Search: WWW, and Extraordinary You, steps into the shoes of Hong Rang, the long-lost son of Joseon's elite, who emerges from the shadows with hidden secrets. As he makes his unexpected return, having vanished in childhood, the narrative promises a whirlwind of emotions, weaving romance and suspense.

Cho Bo-ah, adored by fans worldwide for her roles in Destined With You and Tale of the Nine-Tailed, brings depth to Jae-i, a woman torn between doubt and love for her enigmatic step-brother, Hong Rang. Their fates become inextricably linked in a tale that masterfully explores love, friendship, and destiny.

Guiding this saga is the visionary director Kim Hong-sun, celebrated for his acclaimed projects like Netflix series Money Heist: Joint Economic Area, LUCA: The Beginning, and The Guest. Joining forces with him is the brilliant screenwriter Kim Jin-A, known for her work on Dr. Brain. Together, they promise to deliver a historical drama that will captivate audiences globally.

Prepare for a spellbinding experience as Hong Rang (WT) unveils a tale from the annals of Joseon that has never been told before.
