BEHIND THE CRIME (Tubi, New!) - The streaming service is rolling out a true-crime series which "dives deep into the inner workings of the justice system with gripping cases that give viewers unfiltered access with real case footage." First up is "The Nipsey Hussle Murder," which rolled out on Wednesday, with "Killer Ex-Boyfriend" and "Self Defense or Slaughter" also on tap. Dan Abrams, Rachel Stockman, Melody Shafir and Stacey Young are the executive producers for Law&Crime while Ron Marans is a producer. (Variety.com, 9/20)
DANCING WITH THE STARS (ABC) - Actor Matt Walsh has withdrawn his participation on the series amid the WGA strike. (Deadline.com, 9/21)
DREW BARRYMORE SHOW, THE (Syndication) - Drew Barrymore has opted not to return to her series until the WGA strike is over. (@drewbarrymore, 9/17)
HILDA (Netflix) - The final season of the animated series will launch on December 7. (Deadline.com, 9/18)
INSOMNIA (Paramount+) - Vicky McClure will star alongside Tom Cullen, Leanne Best, Lyndsey Marshal, Dominic Tighe, Jade Harrison, Corinna Marlowe, Robert Gilbert, Michelle Bonnard, India Fowler and Smylie Bradwell in the streamer's adaptation of Sarah Pinborough's novel. McClure will play "successful career woman Emma Averill, who fears she might be losing her mind, when her hard-won dream life starts to turn into a nightmare. A couple of weeks before her fortieth birthday Emma stops sleeping - just as her mother had done right before she suffered a violent psychotic breakdown on the night of her own fortieth birthday." Cullen then is set as "Emma's loving husband Robert"; with Bradwell and Fowler as Will and Chloe, "Emma and Tom's children"; Best as "Emma's estranged sister Phoebe"; and Marlowe as "Emma's mother Patricia." Additionally, Börkur Sigthorsson has signed onto direct for Build Your Own Films and Left Bank Pictures. (Deadline.com, 9/20)
JENNIFER HUDSON SHOW, THE (Syndication) - The series is pausing production ahead of its season two premiere in solidarity with the WGA strike. (Deadline.com, 9/17)
JONAH KILLS (Showtime, New!) - Writer Clem Garritty and director Iain B. MacDonald are set to team for a UK-based comedy pilot at the pay channel which "follows a gay man living in London and trying to find love through sex, only to discover that every person he has ever slept with has died in a freak accident." Jax Media is producing the project, which will film after the SAG and WGA strikes. (Deadline.com, 9/18)
LIONSGATE TELEVISION (Various) - The studio has suspended its overall and first-look deals with Paul Feig's Feigco Entertainment, Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum's The Tannenbaum Co., Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly's Timberman/Beverly Productions, Michael London's Groundswell Productions and Joseph Sikora's Black Fox Productions. MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL (ESPN) - ABC is set to simulcast all of the remaining Monday games this season, adding Seattle Seahawks at New York Giants on October 2, Green Bay Packers at Las Vegas Raiders on October 9, Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Chargers on October 16, San Francisco 49ers at Minnesota Vikings on October 23, Las Vegas Raiders at Detroit Lions on October 30, Los Angeles Chargers at New York Jets on November 6, Denver Broncos at Buffalo Bills on November 13, Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings on November 27, Cincinnati Bengals at Jacksonville Jaguars on December 4, and Kansas City Chiefs at New England Patriots on December 18 to the previously announced lineup. REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER (HBO) - Bill Maher has likewise opted not to proceed with the series now that talks have resumed between the WGA and AMPTP. (@billmaher, 9/18)
RUSSELL BRAND IN NEW YORK (Paramount+) - The comedian's 2009 Comedy Central special has been pulled from the streamer as "bombshell misconduct accusations against Russell Brand continue." (Deadline.com, 9/20)
SHERRI SHEPHERD SHOW, THE (Syndication) - The series has pressed pause for at least the rest of the week after host Sherri Shepherd tested positive for COVID-19. (@sherrishowtv, 9/20)
WHEEL OF FORTUNE (Syndication) - Vanna White has closed a deal to continue as co-host of the series for an additional two years, through the 2025-26 season. (Deadline.com, 9/19)
