The network is instead "considering a wider array of candidates to take the reins of the program." (Variety.com, 9/27)
DONGJAE, THE GOOD OR THE BASTARD (Paramount+, New!) - Studio Dragon and Ace Factory are set to team for a spin-off of "Stranger" at the streamer: "Its story will revolve around one of the popular characters in "Stranger," Seo Dongjae, whose future is bleak due to the stigma of his past corruption as a sponsor prosecutor. In the spin-off series, Dongjae is troubled by a redevelopment case. When he takes on the murder case of a high school girl, he begins to walk a dangerous tightrope between his intuition as a prosecutor and his instinct as an opportunist." It is a production that seems like a children's story at times, but a hot adult love story at times, too." Kim Min-kyeong will direct from a script by Yu-ja for CJ ENM, Story Phoenix and Keyeast. (Variety.com, 9/26)
EMILY IN PARIS/ETOILE (Netflix/Amazon) - Both U.S. productions are tentatively scheduled to start shooting in Paris come January in advance of the planned citywide shutdown from June to August due to the Olympic Games. Said plans are of course contingent on the WGA and SAG strikes being resolved. (Variety.com, 9/29)

Luti Media and Trend Centrl are behind the project, which is based on the viral YouTube series "Blue Therapy." Luti Fagbenle is the executive producer. (Deadline.com, 9/28)
LAST DRIVE-IN WITH JOE BOB BRIGGS, THE (Shudder) - The streamer's flagship series has been picked up for a "supersized" sixth season, due in March 2024 which will spotlight single titles every other Friday night. PYRAMID GAME (Paramount+, New!) - Kim Jiyeon is set to star in a new drama at the streamer, "a story of a high school girl (Sung Soo-ji) who had to escape being bullied and become a sniper to end the game in Baekyeon Girls' High School, where each person is graded through monthly voting, and an 'F' grade is labeled as a legitimate victim of school violence." Film Monster and CJ ENM Studios are behind the project, created by JQ Lee, directed by BaK So Yeon, and written by Choi Sui. (Variety.com, 9/26)

They band together to work outside the system to protect the vulnerable, solve cold cases, and dive into the dark minds of killers using forensic expertise and world-class data skills. Their motto is to have compassion first, but let the evidence lead." Nancy Schwartzman directed the project with showrunner Maija Norris and XTR's Justin Lacob, Kathleen Flood and Bryn Mooser also executive producing. (Deadline.com, 9/27)
