AMERICAN SPORTS STORY (FX) - Tammy Blanchard has been cast as Terri Hernandez, "the mother of the disgraced football star and convicted murderer" Aaron Hernandez, played by Josh Andrés Rivera. (Deadline.com, 2/27)
AND JUST LIKE THAT... (Max) - Sara Ramirez's Che Diaz won't be returning for the show's third season. (Deadline.com, 2/26)
BABYLON BERLIN (Netflix) - The series, which departs the streaming service this week, has found a new home on boutique streamer MHz Choice. The service will carry the three previously released seasons as well as the domestic premiere of season four. (Deadline.com, 2/29)
BEEF (Netflix) - A second season of the limited series is reportedly in the works with two feuding couples - Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny; and Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway - set to be the focus. (Deadline.com, 2/26)
BONDSMAN, THE (Amazon) - Beth Grant, Damon Herriman, Maxwell Jenkins and Jolene Purdy will join the Kevin Bacon/Jennifer Nettles-led series. Grant will play Kitty, "the mother of Hub Halloran"; with Herriman as Lucky, "the owner of a successful country music club, who is in a relationship with Maryanne (Nettles), Hub's ex-wife"; Jenkins as Cade, "the son of Hub and Maryanne"; and Purdy as Midge, "who is said to be weary with the understated gravitas of someone who's learned the hard way how to hold her ground in a male-dominated world." BROTHERS SUN, THE (Netflix) - The action comedy-drama has been canceled after one season. (Deadline.com, 3/1)
CHI, THE (Showtime) - The show's sixth season has cast Kadeem Hardison as Professor Gardner, "a college literature professor"; Leon as Alonzo, "a charming, street-savvy attorney with old ties to Alicia (guest star Lynn Whitfield)"; Brett Gray as Damien, "a whip-smart young man who will impact Emmett's (Jacob Latimore) life in more ways than one"; and Daniel J. Watts as Pastor Ezekiel, "a charismatic pastor of a megachurch." (Deadline.com, 2/29)
CRIMINAL RECORD (Apple TV+) - Cush Jumbo told "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" that a second season is in the works of the drama series. (Deadline.com, 2/25)
DEPARTMENT, THE (Showtime) - Michael Fassbender is in negotiations to star in the espionage thriller series from George Clooney. (Variety.com, 2/27)
FABLE, THE (Hulu, New!) - The streamer will roll out its anime adaptation of Katsuhisa Minami's manga of the same name from Kodansha on April 7, which "follows a legendary killer for hire called "Fable" who has spent his entire life training to become the world's best assassin." Ryōsuke Takahashi directed the project, which was written by Yuya Takashima and Mayumi Morita and animated by Tezuka Productions. The voice cast includes Kazuyuki Okitsu as Fable/Akira Sato; Miyuki Sawashiro as Yoko Sato; Kana Hanazawa as Misaki Shimizu; Akio Otsuka as Takeshi Ebihara; Kenjiro Tsuda as Kojima; Tetsuo Komura as Boss; and Jun Fukushima as Jackal Tomioka. FOUNDATION (Apple TV+) - Tim Southam has been tapped to take over directing duties on the series from showrunner David S. Goyer. Doug Moreno has likewise been promoted to line producer, succeeding Laurie Borg, while executive producer Bill Bost will move to Prague for the duration of principal photography. (Deadline.com, 3/1)
HARRY POTTER LIVE-ACTION SERIES (Max) - Francesca Gardiner, Tom Moran and Kathleen Jordan are reportedly the finalists to spearhead the much-ballyhooed TV series. (Deadline.com, 2/27)
HYSTERIA! (Peacock) - The Satanic Panic-themed series has cast Garret Dillahunt as The Reverend; Nolan North as Gene; Elijah Richardson as Cliff; Milly Shapiro as Ingrid; Allison Scagliotti as Officer Olsen; and Jessica Treska as Judith. No details were given about the roles, all of which are recurring. (Deadline.com, 2/28)
JINX/MURDER INC./PEARL (Amazon, New!) - Brian Michael Bendis has signed a first-look deal with the streamer and is already developing three TV series based on his comic book works. Ayelet Waldman and Michael Chabon are spearheading "Jinx," "a crime-ridden love story unfolding on a high stakes treasure hunt." Tze Chun is behind "Murder Inc." which "follows Valentine Gallo, a newly "made man" whose first task for the mob ends with an explosion - sending him on the run from rival gangsters and the CIA." And Chris Collins is leading the charge on "Pearl," about Pearl Tanaka, "an outsider among outsiders - a Japanese American with albinism, born into a world ruled by the American yakuza." Bendis will executive produce all three projects, as will Michael Oeming on "Murder Inc." and Michael Gaydos on "Pearl." (Variety.com, 2/27)
LAST FRONTIER, THE (Apple TV+) - Alfre Woodard is the latest addition to the Jason Clarke-led drama as Bradford, "a top leader in the CIA." (Variety.com, 2/27)
LIBRARIANS, THE: THE NEXT CHAPTER (The CW) - Jessica Green is set to topline the spin-off series as Charlie Cornwall, "the Guardian. Charlie, having been rejected by the Library to serve as a Guardian - essentially the bodyguard of The Librarian - was at a low point in her life when she got the call to be a "special guardian" on a trial basis. Trained in the military, her dedication and martial art skills are unquestionable. If she can keep the powers that be in line, she can achieve her dream to become a permanent member of the Library." LINCOLN LAWYER, THE (Netflix) - The show's third season has tapped the following actors to recur: Merrin Dungey as Judge Regina Turner, "a former public defender who is younger and more progressive than most judges in the district, but whether that's a benefit to Mickey or not remains to be seen"; Allyn Moriyon as Eddie Rojas, "a fitness buff (and former babysitter to Mickey's daughter, Hayley) who needs a very good lawyer"; John Pirruccello as William Forsythe, "a seemingly non-threatening prosecutor that Mickey is excited to go up against, but once the trial starts it's clear nothing is as it seems"; and Philip Anthony-Rodriguez as Adam Suarez, "the Chief Deputy District Attorney, to whom prosecutor Andrea Freeman (Yaya DaCosta) reports and who proves to be a force with whom she must reckon." LONG BRIGHT RIVER (Peacock) - Ashleigh Cummings, Callum Vinson and John Doman are set to star opposite Amanda Seyfried and Nicholas Pinnock in the limited series. No other specifics were given. (Deadline.com, 2/27)
LORD OF THE RINGS, THE: THE RINGS OF POWER (Amazon) - Executive producers Patrick McKay and JD Payne have signed a three-year overall deal with Amazon MGM Studios, which also launches their own production company, 10:40 PM Productions. (THR.com, 2/28)
MURDERBOT (Apple TV+) - Noma Dumezwani and David Dastmalchian are set to star opposite Alexander Skarsgard in the sci-fi drama series. Dumezwani is set as Mensah while Dastmalchian plays Gurathin. No other details were given about their characters. (Deadline.com, 2/28; Deadline.com, 3/1)
ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING (Hulu) - Eugene Levy has signed onto the new season in a yet-to-be-revealed recurring role. (Deadline.com, 2/27)
OUTER BANKS (Netflix) - Season four of the drama series has cast Pollyanna McIntosh as Dalia, "a revolutionary-like leader and worldly baddie on a plunder who comes face to face with the Pogues"; J. Anthony Crane as Chandler Groff, "a man darkly grief-stricken over the loss of his wife, who is welcoming to the Pogues on their latest adventure"; Brianna Brown as "the biggest realtor on the island who previously worked with Ward Cameron in a successful business deal, she now has her eye on Rafe for a new venture"; Rigo Sanchez as "an imposing stranger with a piratical nerve"; and Mia Challis as Ruthie, "a wild child with a toxic streak who develops a close relationship with Topper." SAVANT, THE (Apple TV+) - James Badge Dale is set to recur on the limited series starring Jessica Chastain and Nnamdi Asomugha. No character details were released. (Deadline.com, 2/27)
TEACUP (Peacock) - Yvonne Strahovski, Scott Speedman and Chaske Spencer are the first to be cast in the horror thriller, which "follows a disparate group of people in rural Georgia who must come together in the face of a mysterious threat to survive." They'll play Maggie Chenoweth, James Chenoweth, and Ruben Shanley, respectively. No other character details were given. Strahovski will also receive a producing credit. TERMINAL LIST, THE: DARK WOLF (Amazon) - Dar Salim will recur on the spin-off series as Mohammed "Mo" Farooq: "Mo is an Iraqi Special Operations Forces officer, formerly trained in the CIA Scorpions program.
