25 WORDS OR LESS/PERSON, PLACE, OR THING/PICTIONARY (Syndication) - Fox First Run has renewed all three series on the FOX owned stations through the 2024-2025 season. (Variety.com, 4/2)
ABANDONS, THE (Netflix) - Ryan Hurst, Michael Greyeyes, Michiel Huisman, and Toby Hemingway are the latest bound for Kurt Sutter's upcoming western series. No character details however were given. (Variety.com, 4/4)
ANNA O (Netflix, New!) - Matthew Blake's debut novel is being developed for TV by the streamer: "The high-concept thriller steeped in mystery follows the investigation of Dr. Benedict Prince, an expert in sleep-related homicide, into the case of the inexplicable Anna O, who murdered two people in cold blood four years ago and hasn't woken up since." Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Leigh Redman will executive produce via their Warner Bros. Television-based Berlanti Productions. No writer was indicated. (Deadline.com, 4/2)
CHAIR COMPANY, THE (HBO, New!) - Tim Robinson has scored a pilot order for a half-hour comedy at the pay channel in which "after an embarrassing incident at work, a man (Robinson) finds himself investigating a far-reaching conspiracy." Robinson and Zach Kanin are also co-writing the project and will executive produce alongside Hyperobject Industries' Adam McKay and Todd Schulman. (Deadline.com, 4/2)
CHICAGO FIRE (NBC) - Michael Bradway will recur on the series as "charming firefighter Jack Damon," a role which has the option to become a series regular. (Deadline.com, 4/3)
CRIMINAL MINDS: EVOLUTION (Paramount+) - Felicity Huffman will guest on the new season as Jill Gideon, "a brilliant biological psychiatrist who also happens to be the ex-wife of Mandy Patinkin's Jason Gideon from the early years of Criminal Minds. Though she agrees to help the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit investigate a murderous conspiracy theory, Jill is reluctant to return to the bureau's elite team given her complicated history. She soon realizes, however, that her specific skill set could help them uncover another clue to the elusive Gold Star mystery." (Deadline.com, 4/1)
CRIMINAL (Amazon) - Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck have been tapped to direct the first four episodes of the series, based on Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips's comic of the same name. (Deadline.com, 4/2)
DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN (Disney+) - Lou Taylor Pucci has scored a top secret role on the revival series. (Deadline.com, 4/4)
ELSBETH (CBS) - Elizabeth Lail, Arian Moayed and Laura Benanti are all set to drop by the freshman drama. Lail portrays Quinn, "a hot young tech CEO known for her location-based crime alert app "Cerberus."" Moayed portrays Joe, "the charismatic owner of an exclusive TriBeCa cocktail bar." And Benanti portrays Nadine, "a glamorous, smart and determined supermodel who is retiring from the runway while dealing with a messy divorce from her designer husband." (Deadline.com, 4/1)
FAMILY RESERVATIONS (NBC, New!) - Ilene Chaiken is developing a small screen take on Liza Palmer's latest book for the network, Keshet Studios and Universal Television, which "follows culinary pioneer and world-renowned restaurateur Maren Winter, who is nearing retirement. Each of her three daughters is eager to take the reins of running her restaurant empire, the Winter Group. Ruled by her deep insecurities about becoming irrelevant, Maren pits her three daughters against each other, beginning her own dangerous descent into madness and starting the Winter sisters on their journey to freedom." Palmer, Avi Nir, Keren Shahar, Lisa Roos and Peter Traugott will also executive produce with Heather Brewster as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com, 4/1)
FBI: INTERNATIONAL (CBS) - Teri Polo has scored a top secret role on the series. She'll "appear in the final two episodes of the season and return for additional episodes in Season 4 if the series is renewed." (Deadline.com, 4/2)
FOREVER (Netflix) - The streamer's Judy Blume adaptation has cast Xosha Roquemore as Shelly, "Keisha's (Lovie Simone) mother Shelly [who] has never had a lot, but has always taken care of her family"; Marvin Lawrence Winans III as Jaden, "Justin's (Michael Cooper Jr.) younger, and often annoying, brother, who idolizes his big brother and enjoys any chance he gets to hang with him"; Barry Shabaka Henley as George, "Keisha's grandfather [who] looks out for his granddaughter, acting as her surrogate father and protector"; Ali Gallo as Chloe, "Keisha's best friend and confidante, who always has Keisha's best interest at heart"; Niles Fitch as Darius, "Justin's assertive best friend who loves to offer what he thinks is sage advice to a more tentative and less confident Justin"; Paigion Walker as Tiffany, "one of Keisha's older cousins"; and E'myri Crutchfield as Tammy, "Keisha's rival on their high school track team that's confident, cute and athletic." KING OF QUEENS, THE (CBS) - Sony Pictures Television has finalized a new licensing deal with Paramount Global, where it will continue to be available on Paramount linear cable networks (such as TV Land and CMT) as well as, for the first time, streaming on Paramount+ and Pluto TV. The pact kicked in at the start of the month. (Deadline.com, 4/4)
LANDMAN (Paramount+) - Octavio Rodriguez and J.R. Villarreal will both recur on the Billy Bob Thornton-led drama. Rodriguez will play Antonio, "a hard man who is angry when his family suffers a tragedy"; while Villarreal will play Manuel, "an oil crewman who is looking for reprisal after a disaster." LEGALLY BLONDE SPINOFF TV SERIES (Amazon, New!) - Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are spearheading a TV series inspired by the film franchise at the streamer. No details were given about the project, which would also be executive produced by Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter and Marc Platt for Hello Sunshine, Fake Empire and Amazon MGM Studios. Said effort is the first to two proposed series, the second of which is still in the preliminary stages. (Deadline.com, 4/4)
MATLOCK (CBS) - Yael Grobglas will recur on the upcoming drama as Shae Banfield, aka "the Meerkat," "the law firm's devastatingly insightful jury consultant. Known as a human lie detector, she's able to suss out character and sniff out the truth using her mastery of body language, facial expressions, and neurolinguistics, making her a worthy adversary to brilliant attorney Olympia Lawrence (Skye P. Marshall) and an imminent threat to Madeleine Matlock (Kathy Bates)." (Deadline.com, 4/1)
MURRAY HILL (Hulu, New!) - Mindy Kaling has scored a script-to-series commitment from the streamer for a new single-camera comedy which "revolves around five work-obsessed twenty-somethings who strive for professional success and, if they have time, personal happiness in Manhattan's most glamorous neighborhood, Murray Hill." 3 Arts Entertainment's Howard Klein will also executive produce for Warner Bros. Television with Kaling International's Jessica Kumai Scott co-executive producing. (Deadline.com, 4/4)
NINE PUZZLES (Disney+, New!) - The streamer is behind a new Korean crime thriller which "follows two intrepid investigators who have to put aside their differences and work together after a serial killer begins playing games with police." The show, due in 2025, stars Kim Da-mi, Son Suk-ku and Kim Sung-kyun. (Deadline.com, 4/2)
NO GOOD DEED (Netflix) - Kevin Alves is slated to recur on the newcomer as Nate, "the strait-laced, hard-edged son of Mikey (Denis Leary), with whom he has a strained relationship." (Deadline.com, 4/1)
ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING (Hulu) - Desmin Borges, Siena Werber and newcomer Lilian Rebelo are slated to recur in the new season in unspecified roles. (Deadline.com, 4/5)

UNTITLED MATT RIFE PROJECT (Netflix, New!) - Comedian Matt Rife has signed a two-special deal with the streamer as well as a development deal for "a gym/workplace comedy series that he'll write and star in." No other auspices were given for the potential series. (Deadline.com, 4/3)
UNTITLED OWEN WILSON PROJECT (Apple TV+) - Peter Dager will star opposite Owen Wilson in the comedy series, about Pryce Cahill (Wilson), an over-the-hill, ex-pro golfer whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago. After he gets fired from his job at an Indiana sporting goods store and his wife walks out on him, Pryce hedges his bets entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom (Dager). (Deadline.com, 4/5)
WALKING DEAD, THE: DEAD CITY (AMC) - Kim Coates will recur on the show's sophomore run as Bruegel, "the leader of one of the fiercest gangs in New York City who is more manipulative and intelligent than we might have assumed." (Deadline.com, 4/4)
WITCHER, THE (Netflix) - Sharlto Copley, James Purefoy and Danny Woodburn have all scored roles on the show's fourth season. Copley will play "the infamous bounty hunter Leo Bonhart"; with Purefoy as Skellen, "a high-ranking spy and court advisor to Emhyr"; and Woodburn as Zoltan, "a fan favorite dwarf character from the novels and "Witcher" video games."
