Wednesday, August 7

· "Finding Amelia" New Special Debuts on Discovery Channel - 8pm ET/PT

· In 1945, eight years after Amelia Earhart's disappearance, a group of Australian soldiers inadvertently stumbled across her downed airplane in the jungles of Papua New Guinea. Now, a team of specialists will use the soldiers' exclusive testimony and an old patrol map to attempt to locate the plane and finally bring Amelia Earhart home.

· "Expedition X" New Season Debuts on Discovery Channel - 9pm ET/PT

· Adventurer Josh Gates and his team of investigators dive into the stranger side of the unknown, seeking the truth behind the world's eeriest supernatural mysteries. This season welcomes new host Heather Amaro to the team, a third-generation paranormal researcher who has spent decades investigating mysterious phenomena. Together with scientist Phil Torres, they delve far beyond the unknown and on a spine-tingling expedition into the unexplained.

· "Expedition Bigfoot" New Season Debuts on Discovery Channel - 10pm ET/PT

· An elite team of researchers including acclaimed primatologist Dr. Mireya Mayor and Bigfoot experts Bryce Johnson and Russell Acord return to the field in their groundbreaking hunt for the legendary cryptid. Venturing back to the Lost Coast of Northern California, the epicenter of Bigfoot activity, the team embarks on their first ever expedition to unearth evidence of the cryptid's breeding ground. Utilizing advanced technology, the hunt is on as they believe they've located a nesting site and attempt to track down a family of Bigfoots... before they find them.

· "Gold Rush: Mine Rescue with Freddy & Juan" New Season Debuts on Discovery Channel - 8pm ET/PT

· Gold recovery experts Freddy Dodge and Juan Ibarra help struggling mine owners. With increased stress on small-scale miners from inflation, they will only take a cut if they can double a miner's recovery. The odds are tougher than ever.

· "Bering Sea Gold" New Season Debuts on Discovery Channel - 9pm ET/PT

· Nome, Alaska - the one place in the world where the toughest gold miners use their ingenuity and skill to brave the dangers of diving under the ice - has been flipped upside down this season. While gold prices have soared to an all-time high, chaotic El Niño conditions are making the grounds nearly impossible to access, creating a shifting ice field filled with dangerous formations called pressure ridges. This treacherous terrain forces some miners off their claims and creates a funnel effect, pushing the fleet into fewer minable spots and in much closer proximity to each other. To combat the most unpredictable ice season in history, the miners must rethink their gameplans and choose all new strategies.
