EXTREME DECLUTTERING EXPERT MATT PAXTON TURNS HOARDS OF TRASH TO TREASURE IN "FILTHY FORTUNES" PREMIERING SUNDAY, MARCH 9 AT 10PM ET/PT ON DISCOVERY CHANNEL
(New York, NY) - January 30, 2025 - Across the United States, unclaimed valuables lie buried within ordinary people's attics, basements and garages. In the new Discovery Channel series, FILTHY FORTUNES, premiering on Sunday, March 9 at 10PM ET/PT, modern day treasure hunter and the "King of Hoards," Matt Paxton, travels around the country in search of rare, big-ticket items hidden in some of the most cluttered, filthy homes imaginable. His priority is to clean out the overloaded properties and sell his finds as quickly and for as much money as possible to secure the ultimate payday for him and his clients.
Matt, along with Expert Appraiser, Mike Kelleher, and Clean-out Manager, Kayland Brock, take on the biggest, most dangerous and physically demanding jobs to transform both the houses and the lives of those in desperate need of their help. Using their combined expertise, the team will overcome unique challenges to uncover historical finds - spanning a Mickey Mantle rookie card to John Wilkes Booth's actor bill card, to misprinted stamps, rare coin collections, vintage toys, military memorabilia, and much more - totaling a profit of nearly a half million dollars.
"Filthy Fortunes spotlights Matt Paxton and his team as they complete the most squalid and hazardous jobs to help everyday Americans cash in," said Howard Lee, Chief Creative Officer of U.S. Networks and President of Discovery Networks. "These high risk, high reward situations will keep viewers engrossed and in constant suspense of what hidden treasures may lie within their own couch cushions."
Before the treasure hunt can begin, Matt will assess the property to determine potential costs associated with the clean-out and estimate the value of items hidden inside the hoard. With each property, he wagers that he'll discover enough to cover all the costs and make a profit. Matt takes all the risk, and if all goes according to plan, it's a win-win situation for both him and the client.
