Netflix has confirmed the production of its upcoming series Scandals (WT), featuring a star-studded cast including Son Ye-jin (Crash Landing on You), Ji Chang-wook (Welcome to Samdal-ri), and NANA (Mask Girl). The story delves into a daring and dangerous love game set in the Joseon dynasty between the remarkable Lady Cho, and Cho Won, the era's greatest playboy. A conflicted Hui-yeon becomes unknowingly entangled in their risky bet.
Based on the 2003 Korean film Untold Scandal, which reimagined the promiscuous world of the French novel Dangerous Connections by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos in the context of the Joseon era, Scandals (WT) brings to life a world where love and temptation were taboo. Set in a time when harboring desires was forbidden, the series depicts characters who challenge the strict order of society and engage in a risqué game of love and temptation.
Son Ye-jin takes on the role of Lady Cho, a woman of talent and charm who goes against the limitations placed on women of her time and makes a secret bet of love. A strategist, Lady Cho proposes a temptation game to her admirer, Cho Won.
Ji Chang-wook plays Cho Won, the greatest playboy in Joseon who pursues pleasure and fun over success and honor. A captivating man who doesn't trust love and only enjoys dating, Cho Won uses everything in his power to win Lady Cho's heart and their wager.
NANA transforms into Hui-yeon, a widow who vows to remain chaste after losing her husband. Despite her resolve, she is conflicted by complex emotions and attraction towards Cho Won.
