UNTITLED GREG BERLANTI PROJECT (Max, New!) - Greg Berlanti is in negotiations to sell a third drama to the streamer, "believed to be a family drama, which is intended to follow the 15 episodes a year at a reasonable budget model established by another WBTV drama series for the streamer, The Pitt." (Variety.com, 4/29)
WISTERIA LANE (Hulu, New!) - Onyx Collective is developing a reimagining of former ABC staple "Desperate Housewives" with Kerry Washington's Simpson Street and 20th Television: "Written by Natalie Chaidez (The Flight Attendant), Wisteria Lane is described as a fun, sexy, darkly comedic soap/mystery in the vein of Desperate Housewives, set among a group of five very different friends and sometimes frenemies who all live on a picture-perfect cul de sac called "Wisteria Lane." On the surface, all the Wisteria neighbors are living the dream: beautiful homes, gorgeous families, shiny SUVs in the driveway. But behind those white-picket fences and smiling Insta posts are SECRETS." Chaidez, Washington, Pilar Savone and Shiny Penny's Stacey Sher are the executive producers. It's unclear if Washington will have an on-camera role should it move forward. Original series creator Marc Cherry "was not part of the pitch but is aware of the project and could be involved in it in some capacity." (Deadline.com, 4/29)
