Netflix Forges Creative Partnership with Powerhouse Animation Duo Michael Jelenic and Aaron Horvath
As part of the multi-year deal, the duo will develop animated series and films exclusively for Netflix, with first-look rights for live action projects.

NETFLIX FORGES CREATIVE PARTNERSHIP WITH POWERHOUSE ANIMATION DUO MICHAEL JELENIC AND AARON HORVATH

· Netflix today announced a creative partnership with Michael Jelenic and Aaron Horvath, the powerhouse directors of the 2023 The Super Mario Bros. Movie, the 2026 subsequent film, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and the creators and producers of the popular Teen Titans Go! series.

· As part of the multi-year deal, the duo will develop animated series and films exclusively for Netflix, with first-look rights for live action projects.

· The Super Mario Bros Movie appeared in the Netflix global top 10 for 24 weeks and garnered over 240M views from December 2023 through the end of 2025. The Teen Titan Go! Seasons 1-5 and Teen Titan Go! To the Movies garnered over 80M views on Netflix from 2023-2025.

· Michael Jelenic Bio: Michael Jelenic is an Emmy and Annie-nominated writer and producer who moved out of his parents' house when he was 25. He started at Warner Bros. Animation as an assistant and worked his way up, first as a writer (THE BATMAN), then a Story Editor and Producer (THE BATMAN, BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD, THUNDERCATS), and as an Executive Producer (TEEN TITANS GO!). He received a Primetime Emmy Nomination in the "Outstanding Music Composition for a Series" category for a musical episode of BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND BOLD. He also co-wrote "Peaches," the Jack Black hit song from THE SUPER MARIO BROS. MOVIE the Oscars didn't have the guts to nominate. Michael produced and wrote the hit series TEEN TITANS GO! which was nominated for an Emmy in "Outstanding Short Form Animation" and won the BAFTA for International Animation. In addition to working on the series, he has written several theatrical features, both animated and live-action, including TEEN TITANS GO! · Aaron Horvath Bio: Aaron Horvath is a Writer/Producer/Director/Animator/User of many slashes when describing himself. Aaron directed THE SUPER MARIO BROS. MOVIE for Illumination and Nintendo, based on Nintendo's blockbuster video game franchise, starring Chris Pratt, Jack Black, and Anya Taylor-Joy. The film grossed $1.36 billion worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing Illumination film of all time and the third highest-grossing Universal film of all time. Most recently, Aaron directed the sequel THE SUPER MARIO GALAXY MOVIE, which was released in April 2026. Previously, Aaron worked as an executive producer at Warner Bros. Animation where he wrote, directed and oversaw animation production for TEEN TITANS GO!, the #1 show on Cartoon Network, which was Emmy-Nominated (It was an honor) and won a BAFTA in International Animation. He also developed and served as Supervising Producer for Cartoon Network's UNIKITTY animated series. In addition to making solid gold hits for television, Aaron has also written feature films. He wrote TEEN TITANS GO! TO THE MOVIES, a feature-length animated film based on the aforementioned super successful Cartoon Network series, which he also produced and directed.
