Netflix Announces Five New Brazilian Productions and Expands Its Presence at Rio2C 2026

With new announcements and participation in discussions on the future of the audiovisual industry, Netflix reinforces its ongoing investment in stories produced in Brazil.

Netflix is coming to Rio2C 2026 with an agenda dedicated to the future of audiovisual storytelling and the celebration of Brazilian stories. Shortly before the start of the official programming of Latin America's largest creativity event, the company presents five new Brazilian productions across different genres and formats:

MED, Netflix's first Brazilian medical series, starring Clara Moneke and produced by Paranoid.

Os Crentes, a comedy special created by Christian screenwriters and produced by Floresta.

A documentary about Brazilian sailor Tamara Klink's solitary and inspiring journey across the Arctic - Netflix's first production with the production company Maria Farinha Filmes.

A new melodrama series directed by acclaimed filmmaker Rogério Gomes (aka Papinha) and produced by A Fábrica.

A comedy about open marriage, created by Alexandre Machado and directed by José Alvarenga Jr., produced by Manas Filmes.

The announcements highlight the diversity of formats, genres and authentic narratives from Netflix in Brazil and join other Brazilian projects in various stages of development and production, such as Habeas Corpus, Netflix's first Brazilian legal drama, produced by Café Royal; A Estranha na Cama, developed by Casa Montes and produced by A Fábrica - an adaptation of Raphael's upcoming novel of the same name; and the reality show Mom Knows Best? (Sua Mãe Te Conhece?), an original and 100% Brazilian format, produced by BoxFish and Farra (see the complete list at the end of the text).

"Rio2C is an important space for dialogue with the industry and also a great opportunity to showcase the strength and diversity of the stories we're developing in Brazil," says Elisabetta Zenatti, Vice President of Content at Netflix Brazil. "These new projects reflect just that: different genres, perspectives and creators, all with great potential to connect with audiences both in Brazil and internationally."
