Quick Take for Wednesday, January 18, 2006 (Based on Fast Affiliate Ratings)

From 8-9pm, ABCs Repeat Lost Earns Second Place to American Idol Among Adults 18-49, Opposite All Original Competition on the Other Nets

Despite Foxs Sizeable Lead Coming into the Time Period from Idol, ABCs Lost Takes First Place During the 9 Oclock Hour, Ranking as the No. 1 Scripted Program on Wednesday in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49

ABCs Invasion Ranks No.1 During the 10 Oclock Hour Among Men 18-34

Wednesday Night (8:00-11:00 p.m.)

ABC delivered a strong second-place finish to Idol-fueled Fox on Wednesday in Adults 18-49 (4.7/11), outpacing third-place CBS by 21% (3.9/9) and fourth-place NBC by 52% (3.1/7).

Lost (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

Against all-original competition from 8:00-9:00 p.m., ABCs repeat telecast of Lost took second place to Foxs Wednesday season premiere of American Idol among Adults 18-49 (2.4/6).

Lost (9:00-10:00 p.m.)

Despite Foxs enormous lead from Idol coming into the time period (Fox = 33.8 million & 14.0/34 at 8:30 p.m.), ABCs Lost surged from its lead-in and gained audience throughout its telecast to win the 9 oclock hour. ABCs Lost defeated second-place Foxs series debut of Skating with Celebrities by 3% in Total Viewers (19.3 million vs. 18.7 million) and by a more substantial 13% in Adults 18-49 (8.1/18 vs. 7.2/16).

Please Note: American Idol ran over into the 9:00 p.m. hour, so the current numbers for Skating are inflated and will adjust once the final national ratings are released this afternoon. Also of note, the first 15 minutes of Skating with Celebrities ran without a commercial break.

Lost stood as the No. 1 scripted program on Wednesday in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49.

Invasion (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

During the 10 oclock hour, ABCs Invasion earned second-place in Men 18-49 (3.2/9) and Men 25-54 (3.8/10), while ranking No. 1 among Men 18-34 (3.3/10).
