SCI FI HAS BEST APRIL PERFORMANCE EVER
ACROSS ALL ADULT, MALE AND FEMALE VIEWERS 18 � 34 AND DOUBLE DIGIT GAINS AMONG ADULTS 18 � 49, 25 � 54 AND TOTAL VIEWERS FOR MONTH OF APRIL
Channel Boasts Increases in Younger Viewers for Ninth Consecutive Month and Exhibits Growth Six Nights of the Week
Lake Placid 2 Marks Best Saturday Original Movie Performance Since October 2005
New York, NY � May 1, 2007 - Strong performances from SCI FI Friday's original episodes of Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and Painkiller Jane, along with original movies on Saturday night, the "Most Dangerous Night of Television," lead SCI FI Channel to its best performances ever for the month of April among younger viewers. Compared to the same month last year, SCI FI was up 29% in Adults 18 � 34, 20% among Men 18 � 34, and 41% among Women 18 � 34, marking the ninth consecutive month in which SCI FI has grown in younger viewers 18 � 34. SCI FI also posted double digit gains among Adults 18 � 49 (13%), Adults 25 � 54 (13%) and Total Viewers (16%) for the month, and was also up among Women 18 � 49 (17%), Women 25 � 54 (20%), Men 18 � 49 (11%) and Men 25- 54 (8%).
SCI FI posted gains six nights of the week compared to the same month last year, driven by SCI FI Friday night original series Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and freshman series Painkiller Jane, which yielded a 43% jump among Adults 18 � 49, and a 30% increase among adults 25 - 54 for the night. Additionally, strong performances from movies on Saturday Nights, relaunched this year as the "Most Dangerous Night of Television," lead to a 15% increase among adults 18 � 49 and a 6% increase among adults 25 � 54. The SCI FI Original Movie premiere of Lake Placid 2, which aired on 4-28-07, delivered 1.26 million adults 18 � 49, and 1.4 million adults 25 �54. This marks the best Saturday original movie performance since 10-08-05 (Dungeons and Dragons:Wrath of Dragon God) in both demographics. It was also the fifth SCI FI original movie of 2007 to top one million adults 25 � 54.
Additional weeknight gains include a 3% improvement on Monday nights with Star Trek Enterprise, and Tuesday's 8 � 11 pm lineup culminating in Extreme Championship Wrestling was up 43% among Adults 18 � 49 and 22% among Adults 25 � 54. Thursday night movies lead to a 5% boost among Adults 25 � 54, and a month of mini-series on Sunday nights lead to gains of 36% among Adults 18 � 49 and 40% among Adults 25 54.
