ESPN's Monday Night Football Wins the Night in Key Male Demos

Last night, ESPN's Monday Night Football game � the undefeated New Orleans Saints' 35-27 home victory over the Atlanta Falcons � earned an 8.9 rating, representing an average of 8,800,000 households (12,374,000 viewers � P2+). MNF led all the night's programs (broadcast or cable) in all key male demos and people 18-34, and it is the eighth most-viewed program on cable television in 2009, surpassed only by other MNF telecasts.

For 2009, the nine MNF telecasts represent cable's nine biggest audiences in terms of both household impressions and total viewers. Through eight weeks (nine games) of the NFL season, ESPN's MNF is averaging a 10.5 rating and 10,381,000 households (14,422,000 P2+), up 16%, 18% and 18%, respectively, from last season.

ESPN.com had 85.9 million page views to NFL content accessed via computers and mobile devices for Monday through Tuesday at noon -- up 27% from the comparable time period last year. Specifically, page views for the NFL section on computers and mobile were up 3% from last year. Additionally, ESPN.com streamed 2.6 million NFL related videos -- up 102% from last year.

NEXT WEEK ON MNF

Next week's MNF matchup on ESPN Nov. 9 will be a showcase of top AFC teams when Ben Roethlisberger leads the defending Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2) to Denver to face wide receiver Brandon Marshall and the Broncos (6-1) at 8:30 p.m. ET. The Monday Night Countdown pre-game (7 p.m.) and MNF will be part of ESPN's week-long plans (Nov. 4-11) to salute Veteran's Day. America's Heroes: A Salute to Our Veterans will include live shots from Iraq during the MNF game and Steelers' four-time Super Bowl champion Rocky Bleier on Countdown discussing being injured in the Vietnam War and his return to the NFL.
