ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT RULES AS #1 NEWSMAGAZINE FOR 700 CONSECUTIVE WEEKS
LOS ANGELES - December 22, 2009 - CBS Television Distribution's ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT is the #1 syndicated newsmagazine for an impressive 700 weeks in a row.
For the week ending December 13, 2009, ET scored a first place and new season high 4.8 rating, up 9% week to week and 12% year to year. The strip has been #1 for more than 13 years (since the week of July 15, 1996). Season to date, ET is averaging a 4.4, up 5% vs. last year. ET has more than twice as many viewers as the next highest-rated entertainment magazine show and is #1 in the key female demos women 18 to 49 and women 25 to 54. ET is renewed through the 2012-2013 season.
Linda Bell Blue, who has served as the Executive Producer of ET since 1994, stated, "Reaching 700 weeks as the #1 entertainment newsmagazine is a true milestone for ET and for television at large," said Bell Blue. ET, which is the longest-running first-run strip in syndication, airs daily and produces a one-hour weekend edition; they are watched by approximately 35 million viewers each week.
