ABC's "Kimmel" Attracts its Largest Audience Since February
"JKL" Beats NBC's "Fallon" by 7% in Total Viewers,
Drawing a Larger Audience than the NBC Program on Each Night of the Week
"JKL" Tops CBS' "Ferguson" in Adults 18-49 for the 4th Week in a Row
Weekly National Ratings:
During the week of April 26, 2010, ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" saw increases over the previous week of 12% in Total Viewers (1.73 million vs. 1.54 million) and 10% in Adults 18-49 (727,000 vs. 663,000), attracting the ABC late-night program's largest overall audience in nearly 3 months - since w/o 2/8/10. In addition, "JKL" was up by 8% in Total Viewers (1.73 million vs. 1.60 million) and 6% in Adults 18-49 (727,000 vs. 688,000) over the same week last year.
· For the week, ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" outdrew NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" in Total Viewers (+7% - 1.73 million vs. 1.61 million). Season to date, "JKL" is attracting 7% more viewers overall than NBC's "Fallon" (1.66 million vs. 1.55 million).
· During the course of the week, "JKL" topped NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" in Total Viewers on all 5 nights: (Monday - 1.94 million vs. 1.53 million; Tuesday - 1.54 million vs. 1.46 million; Wednesday - 1.67 million vs. 1.64 million; Thursday - 1.67 million vs. 1.62 million; and Friday - 1.84 million vs. 1.83 million).
· For the week, "Jimmy Kimmel Live" beat CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" in Adults 18-49 (+9% - 727,000 vs. 670,000), besting the CBS program in the key young adult demo for the 4th consecutive week. In fact, "Kimmel" is registering its longest winning streak over "Ferguson" in over 1 year - since w/o 2/16/09 through w/o 3/16/09.

"NIGHTLINE" IS #2 IN TOTAL VIEWERS, A25-54 and A18-49
"NIGHTLINE" GROWS IN A25-54 BY 9% WEEK TO WEEK AND 2% YEAR TO YEAR
"NIGHTLINE" CUTS THE WEEKLY TOTAL VIEWING GAP WITH NBC BY 9%, MARKING THE SMALLEST GAP BETWEEN THE TWO SHOWS SINCE JUNE '09
ABC News' "Nightline" was the No. 2 program among A25-54, A18-49 and Total Viewers for the week of April 26, 2010, according to Nielsen Media Research. This is the sixth week in a row "Nightline" placed second among Total Viewers. Week to week, "Nightline" grew the most compared to the competition: +9% among A25-54, +7% among Total Viewers and+7% among A18-49. Year to year, "Nightline" was the only show to increase among A25-54 (+2%) versus the competition, while CBS' "Late Show with David Letterman" decreased -11% and NBC's "The Tonight Show" declined -24%.
"Nightline" continues to cut the total viewing and A25-54 gaps with "The Tonight Show." Compared to the same week last year, "Nightline" cut the Adults 25-54 gap with NBC by -78% and the total viewing gap by -76%. Week to week, "Nightline" cut the Adults 25-54 gap with NBC by -36% and total viewing gap by -39%. This marks the smallest weekly total viewing gap between the two shows since the week of June 15, 2009 and the smallest weekly demo gap since week of December 21, 2009.
ABC News' "Nightline" is anchored by Cynthia McFadden, Terry Moran and Martin Bashir. John Donvan and Vicki Mabrey are correspondents. James Goldston is the executive producer. The program airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m., ET on the ABC Television Network.
