SYFY'S NEW REALITY SERIES "PARANORMAL WITNESS" SCARES UP 1.26 MILLION TOTAL VIEWERS DURING WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7 DEBUT

GHOST HUNTERS SOARS 16% AMONG ADULTS 18-49 AND 24% AMONG ADULTS 25-54

NEW YORK - September 8, 2011 - Syfy's new reality series Paranormal Witness uncovered 1.26 million total viewers, 716,000 Adults 18-49 and 726,000 Adults 25-54, while averaging a 1.0 HH rating during its debut on Wednesday, September 7 from 10-11PM (ET/PT).

At 9PM, Ghost Hunters spooked 836,000 Adults 18-49, 933,000 Adults 25-54 and 1.44 million total viewers. Compared to last week's August 31 telecast, Ghost Hunters jumped 16% in Adults 18-49 and 24% in Adults 25-54.

The powerful paranormal programming block propelled Syfy to #6 in Adults 25-54 among basic cable networks in prime.

On Syfy.com, Paranormal Witness delivered the best premiere day for an original reality series in video streams since January 2011, and ranked #1 among Syfy mobile show sites in uniques and visits.

Using a mixture of intimate first-hand testimony, actual home video and gritty realistic drama, Paranormal Witness transports viewers into a world turned upside-down by extraordinary, terrifying and sometimes life-threatening paranormal events.

The season premiere episode showcased two stories, beginning with "Emily the Imaginary Friend," about a young Baltimore family whose life is turned to chaos when they move into a new home and their five-year-old daughter makes friends with an invisible girl named Emily. The second story was "The Lost Girl," where a mother and daughter relive an unexplainable encounter along a rural dirt road in Florida with a mysterious girl who carries a shocking secret.

Paranormal Witness is produced by Raw TV (Locked Up Abroad and Gold Rush Alaska). Executive producers are Dimitri Doganis and Bart Layton.
