COMEDY CENTRAL TOP CHOICE AMONG YOUNG ADULTS DURING REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION BEATING FOX NEWS, MSNBC AND CNN IN HEAD-TO-HEAD COMPETITION

More Adults 18-34 Watched "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and "The Colbert Report" Than Any Cable News Network

COMEDY CENTRAL's RNC Convention Coverage Beats MSNBC and CNN among Adults 18-49

Coverage of the Democratic National Convention Commences Tonight as "The Daily Show" Travels to Charlotte, NC for "DNC 2012: Hope and Change 2" Airing Nightly at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT through Friday, September 7

NEW YORK, September 4, 2012 - In head-to-head competition, COMEDY CENTRAL was the choice among the crucial youth vote who tuned into the award-winning political coverage of "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and "The Colbert Report" in greater numbers than Fox News Channel, MSNBC and CNN in the head-to-head battle during the Republican National Convention last week in Tampa, FL.

Going up against the cable news networks, COMEDY CENTRAL's late night block from 11:00 p.m.-midnight was the top-rated and most-viewed among Adults 18-34, Men 18-34 and Men 18-24. The block also won the week over both MSNBC and CNN among the coveted advertiser demographic of Adults 18-49 (see charts below).

Highlights of the week of RNC coverage included "The Daily Show" travelling to Tampa, FL for "RNC 2012: The Road to Jeb Bush 2016" and its ongoing "Democalypse 2012" campaign coverage which included interviews with Senator Marco Rubio, former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain and former RNC Chairman Michael Steele, as well as the instant classic biographical film, "Mitt Romney: A Human Being Who Built That."

While not in Tampa, "The Colbert Report" still provided in-depth coverage of its own highlighted by a four-part "Star Wars" tribute to the 2012 Republican National Convention, "America Strikes Back," and a two-part interview with former Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman.

And no coverage of the 2012 Republican National Convention would be complete without analysis of Thursday night's speech by mystery speaker Clint Eastwood, of which Colbert said "there has not been a political speech this powerful since the famous Lincoln-Bookshelf debates" and Stewart called "a Fistful of Awesome."

COMEDY CENTRAL's convention coverage continues this week with "The Daily Show" travelling to Charlotte, NC to present "DNC 2012: Hope and Change 2," airing nightly at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT through Friday, September 7. Guests for the week include NBC News Special Correspondent Tom Brokaw (September 4), Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (September 5), and former Council of Economic Advisors Chairman Austan Goolsbee (September 6). "The Colbert Report" will also air in the special Tuesday-Friday schedule during the DNC and will feature ongoing coverage of the convention along with guests including former Governors Bill Richardson (September 6) and Ed Rendell (September 7).
