WOMEN'S U.S. OPEN TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP SEEN IN ALL-OR-PART BY NEARLY 18 MILLION VIEWERS - HIGHEST IN 1O YEARS

CBS Sports' live coverage of the 2012 U.S. OPEN TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS on Monday, Sept. 10, featuring the men's championship, an epic five-set match that saw Andy Murray defeat Novak Djokovic for his first career major title, 7-6 (10), 7-5, 2-6, 3-6, 6-2, was seen in all-or-part* (P2+) by 16.2 million viewers, up 37% from 11.8 million last year (Djokovic def. Nadal) and up 175% from 5.9 million viewers in 2010 (Nadal def. Djokovic) according to estimates by Nielsen.

This year's 16.2 million was the highest number of viewers to watch all-or-part of the men's championship in five years (16.6 million; Federer def. Djokovic; 9/9/07).

CBS Sports' live coverage of the women's championship of the U.S. OPEN on Sunday, Sept. 9, which saw Serena Williams defeat Victoria Azarenka, 6-2, 2-6, 7-5, was viewed in all-or-part by 17.7 million viewers (P2+), up 35% from last year's 13.1 million (Stosur def. Serena) and up 160% from 6.8 million viewers in 2010 (Clijsters def. Zvonareva; 9/11/10).

This year's 17.7 million viewers was the highest number of viewers to watch all-or-part of the women's championship in 10 years (20.1 million; Serena def. Venus; 9/7/02).
