164.10 Million Viewers Watch All or Part of Super Bowl XLVII, the Largest Audience Ever for a Super Bowl

CBS's Scripted Series Continue to Dominate as Network Has 8 of the Top 10, and 15 of the Top 20 Programs for the Week

CBS's SUPER BOWL SUNDAY delivered 108.5 million viewers in primetime (7:00-11:00 PM) making it the most watched night of television since the advent of people meters (1987), according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ended Feb. 3, week 19 of the 2012-2013 season.

CBS's Sunday broke the previous record for the most watched live (plus same day) night of primetime programming held by FOX in 2011 with 100.9 million viewers when it broadcast the Super Bowl and "Glee."

CBS Sports' broadcast of Super Bowl XLVII was watched all or in part by 164.10 million viewers, the largest audience ever for a Super Bowl.

CBS's scripted series also contributed to the Network's big week with NCIS delivering its third largest audience ever, PERSON OF INTEREST posting its largest margin of victory over "Grey's Anatomy" in viewers and key demos, UNDERCOVER BOSS notching its largest audience of the season as well as huge ratings for THE BIG BANG THEORY, NCIS: LOS ANGELES and TWO AND A HALF MEN.

In all, CBS had eight of the top 10 and 15 of the top 20 programs of the week.

For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (10.1/23), adults 18-49 (8.9/23) and adults 18-34 (7.7/23) - the best weekly deliveries in these measures for any network since the week ending August 5, 2012 (NBC's Summer Olympics).

Season-to-date, CBS has extended its leads in both viewers (12.60m) and adults 25-54 (4.1/10) and moves from a razor close second into sole possession of first place in adults 18-49 (3.2/09). For the season, CBS has 10 of the top 20 series, including the number one series NCIS; the number one comedy THE BIG BANG THEORY; the number one newsmagazine 60 MINUTES; and the number one new series ELEMENTARY.

CBS is posting year-to-year across-the-board increases, up +5% in viewers (12.60m from 12.00m), +3% in adults 18-49 (3.2/09 from 3.1/08) and +2% in adults 25-54 (4.1/10 from 4.0/10).

For the week in viewers: CBS (28.00m), FOX (6.23m), ABC (4.66m) and NBC (3.86m).

Season-to-date: CBS (12.60m), NBC (8.06m), ABC (7.75m) and FOX (6.87m).

For the week in households: CBS (13.6/22), FOX (3.7/06), ABC (3.1/05) and NBC (2.6/04). Season-to-date: CBS (7.7/12), NBC and ABC (5.0/08, each) and FOX (4.1/07).

CBS Weekly Highlights:

CBS's Super Bowl Sunday package from 7:00-11:00pm -- featuring SUPER BOWL XLVII and SUPER BOWL XLVII POST GAME SHOW -- dominated Sunday night in households (46.2/68), viewers (108.48m), adults 25-54 (42.1/74), men 25-54 (45.7/79), adults 18-49 (39.8/76), men 18-49 (43.1/80), adults 18-34 (37.0/77) and men 18-34 (39.6/82). This was the largest viewers delivery for any network on any night since the advent of people meters.

SUPER BOWL XLVII (S) (Baltimore Ravens defeat San Francisco 49ers) posted a 46.4/69 in households, 42.0/75 in adults 25-54, 45.8/80 in men 25-54, 39.7/77 in adults 18-49, 43.1/81 in men 18-49, 36.7/78 in adults 18-34 and 39.3/82 in men 18-34. SUPER BOWL XLVII averaged 108.69m viewers throughout the broadcast, the third largest audience ever for a broadcast, just behind the last two Super Bowls (111.35m for Super Bowl XLVI; 111.04m for Super Bowl XLV).

--On Tuesday, CBS was first in households (10.5/16), viewers (16.86m), adults 25-54 (4.3/10) and adults 18-49 (2.9/08) - winning every half-hour in these measures. CBS posted its second best Tuesday delivery in adults 25-54, matched its second best Tuesday adults 18-49 rating. This is the third consecutive Tuesday where CBS delivered more than 16.5 million viewers with all first-run programming.

NCIS was first in households (13.7/21), viewers (22.07m), adults 25-54 (5.6/14) and adults 18-49 (3.8/11). NCIS beat NBC, ABC, FOX and CW combined by +7.17m viewers (more viewers than any program on the competition on Tuesday in primetime, vs. 14.90m, +48%).

NCIS: LOS ANGELES was first in households (10.6/16), viewers (17.30m), adults 25-54 (4.5/10) and adults 18-49 (3.1/08). Compared to the last first-run episode (on January 15, 2013), NCIS: LOS ANGELES was +10% in adults 25-54 (from 4.1/09) and +15% in adults 18-49 (from 2.7/07). NCIS: LOS ANGELES posted its best delivery in adults 25-54 since September 25, 2012 (the season four premiere) and best adults 18-49 rating since October 2, 2012.

VEGAS was first in households (7.1/12), viewers (11.23m), adults 25-54 (2.8/07) and adults 18-49 (1.9/05). Compared to the last first-run episode (on January 15, 2013), VEGAS was up +8% in adults 25-54 (from 2.6/06), +19% in adults 18-49 (from 1.6/04). VEGAS delivered its best ratings in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since October 9, 2012.

--Thursday, CBS was first in households (8.8/14), viewers (14.15m), adults 25-54 (4.7/12) and adults 18-49 (3.4/09). CBS won the first Thursday of the February sweep in households, viewers and adults 25-54 for the third time in four years while winning the first Thursday of a February Sweep in adult 18-49 for the first time since 2006.

THE BIG BANG THEORY (8:00-8:31PM) swept its time period, finishing first in households (10.9/17), viewers (17.76m), adults 25-54 (7.1/18), adults 18-49 (5.4/16) and adults 18-34 (3.8/13). THE BIG BANG THEORY beat its closest competitor in households (vs. 7.4/12 for FOX) by +47%, in adults 25-54 (vs. 4.8/12) by +48%, in adults 18-49 (vs. 4.2/12) by +24%, in adults 18-34 (vs. 3.5/12) by +9% and by +4.67m viewers (vs. 12.92m, +37%). THE BIG BANG THEORY was the night's #1 program in households, viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and was tied for first in adults 18-34 (with "American Idol").

PERSON OF INTEREST (9:01-10:01PM) was first in households (9.6/15), viewers (15.71m), adults 25-54 (4.6/11) and adults 18-49 (3.2/09). PERSON OF INTEREST beat "Grey's Anatomy" by its largest margin of victory to-date in viewers (+6.78m viewers), adults 25-54 (+1.1 rtg pts) and adults 18-49 (+0.4 rtg pt).

UNDERCOVER BOSS (8:00-9:01PM) was first in households (6.3/11), viewers (9.94m), adults 25-54 (2.8/08) and adults 18-49 (1.9/06). UNDERCOVER BOSS posted season best household and viewers totals, matched season high adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 performances. UNDERCOVER BOSS posted the night's best delivery in adults 25-54.

ELEMENTARY SUPER BOWL (S) from 11:11PM-12:11AM according to time zone adjusted fast national ratings posted an 11.6/23 with an average of 20.80m viewers, 8.3 in adults 25-54, 7.8 in adults 18-49 and 7.4 in adults 18-34. ELEMENTARY posted series highs in these measures. ELEMENTARY SUPER BOWL delivered the best ratings in adults 18-49 and adults 18-34 and tied for best adults 25-54 rating (with January 13's THE BIG BANG THEORY) this season for an entertainment program.
