Live + 7 Ratings: ABC's "Modern Family" Solidifies Its Rank as TV's #1 Broadcast of the Week in Adults 18-49

Live + 7 Day Ratings for the week of 2/25/13 (Week #23):

Based on Live + 7 Day ratings, ABC's Modern Family solidified its claim as TV's #1 broadcast program of the week in Adults 18-49. In the Live + Same Day numbers, the ABC sitcom inched past runner-up Fox's American Idol-Weds by 1-tenth of a rating point to tower over the Fox program by +1.5 rating points in the final Live + 7 Day ratings (6.3 rating vs. 4.8 rating).

Based on Nielsen's TV playback data for the week, Modern Family picked up an additional +2.3 rating points in the Live + 7 Day statistics to register as the biggest gainer via time-shifted viewing in Adults 18-49 for the 16th time in its 16 weeks of original telecasts. The ABC sitcom also stood as the week's biggest overall gainer, adding another +4.72 million viewers to its first reported Live + Same Day tally.

Catapulting 81% (and +1.3 rating points) over its initially reported Live + Same Day Adult 18-49 rating, ABC's freshman Nashville stood as the biggest percentage gainer for any new broadcast series during the week, growing to a 2.9 rating among young adults in the final Live + 7 numbers.

The debut telecast of ABC's Red Widow grew to a 2.1 rating in Adults 18-49 in the L+7 numbers to move ahead of NBC's Celebrity Apprentice premiere by 11% (1.9 rating) head-to-head in the Sunday 9-11pm time slot. In the originally reported L+SD ratings, the NBC unscripted series led Red Widow by 13% with young adults.

· Among Adults 18-49, ABC delivered 4 of the Top 10 biggest gainers, with each show adding on more than a full rating point to their first-reported Live + Same Day numbers: Modern Family (+2.3 rating points), Nashville (+1.3 rating points), Once Upon a Time (+1.2 rating points) and Castle (+1.1 rating points).

· ABC had 6 telecasts add on at least 2.5 million viewers over their originally reported L+SD numbers (the most for any network): Modern Family (+4.72 million), Castle (+3.57 million), Nashville (+2.95 million), Body of Proof (+2.84 million), Once Upon a Time (+2.68 million) and Red Widow (+2.45 million).

Please note: ABC's Grey's Anatomy and Scandal were in repeats this week, while Revenge was pre-empted.

Season-to-Date TV Playback (9/24/12-3/3/13):

Based on TV playback data for the 2012-13 season, ABC's Modern Family is the season's biggest gainer via time-shifted viewing in both Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, adding on +4.58 million viewers and +2.2 rating points.

· Grey's Anatomy is the season's #1 broadcast drama in Adults 18-49 (4.9 - tied with NBC's Revolution), while picking up +1.7 rating points on average this season.
