Saturday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS, "48 Hours" Win Repeat Battle

Here are the highlights of the 11 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night:

CBS (4.001 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.8, #1) was the king of the repeats on Saturday with its mix of "NCIS: Los Angeles" (3.319 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T4), "48 Hours" (3.792 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T2) and another "48 Hours" (4.893 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.0, #1).

FOX (2.068 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #2) then snagged the silver with second runs of "Cops" (1.901 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T4), another "Cops" (2.303 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T2) and "Bones" (2.034 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T7).

Next up was ABC (2.439 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T3) with a repeat of "Motive" (2.160 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T10) and a two-hour "20/20 Saturday" (2.579 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T7).

And finally, encores of "American Ninja Warrior" (2.009 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T7) and "Get Out Alive with Bear Grylls" (1.772 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T4) led into a new "Do No Harm" (1.565 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T10) on NBC (1.782 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T3).

In late-night metered market ratings (via NBC's press release):

· An encore telecast of "Saturday Night Live," with host Adam Levine and musical guest Kendrick Lamar, averaged a 2.6/7 in metered-market households. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Saturday Night Live" averaged a 1.3 rating, 7 share in adults 18-49. "SNL" posted the top rating of the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in the Local People Meters, out-rating all primetime programming on those networks.

· This is "SNL's" highest rating in metered-market households since July 13 (2.6 with host Zach Galifianakis and musical guest Of Monsters and Men) and matches its high since July 7 (2.7 with host Kevin Hart and musical guest Macklemore & Ryan Lewis). In the markets with Local People Meters, "SNL" earned its highest rating in adults 18-49 since July 20 (1.3 with host Kristen Wiig and musical guest Vampire Weekend) and matched its Local People Meter high since June 8 (2.0 with host Vince Vaughn and musical guest Miguel).


Here are the highlights of the 10 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (8/11/12):

NBC (18.57 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 5.0, #1) was still the top draw on Saturday with its one-hour special "Their Finest Hour" (13.25 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.1, #2) plus the penultimate night of the "2012 Summer Olympics" (21.21 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 5.9, #1).

FOX (2.45 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #2) then was a very distant second place with its mix of "Cops" (2.75 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3), another "Cops" (2.84 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3) and "Mobbed" (2.11 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #5).

Next up was ABC (2.69 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.7, #3) with encores of "The Game Plan" (2.65 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T6) and "Castle" (2.76 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.6, #8).

And finally, CBS (2.94 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) closed out the night with the series finale of "NYC 22" (2.81 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T9) plus repeats of "48 Hours Mystery" (2.88 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T9) and a second "48 Hours Mystery" (3.12 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T6).
