For the Third Month in a Row, Adult Swim Ranked #1 Among Basic Cable Networks for Primetime Delivery of Adults 18-34

For the third month in a row, Adult Swim ranked #1 among basic cable networks for Primetime (broadcast definition) delivery of adults 18-34. Compared to August 2012, average Primetime delivery increased by significant double digits across all targeted demos: adults 18-24 grew by 36%, adults 18-34 by 31%, adults 18-49 by 24%, men 18-24 by 34%, men 18-34 by 28% and men 18-49 by 21%.

Across August 2013, Adult Swim's Total Day Delivery ranked #1 among adults 18-24, 18-34 & 18-49 and men 18-24, 18-34 & 18-49 on basic cable, continuing its top ratings position for seven consecutive months. Compared to August 2012, average Total Day delivery increased by double-digit growth across all adult and male demos - adults 18-24 by 38%, adults 18-34 by 33%, adults 18-49 by 29%, men 18-24 by 35%, men 18-34 by 29% and men 18-49 by 23%.

Thursday night's new episodes of Adult Swim's original live-action series,Childrens Hospital (12 a.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among targeted adults 18-34, 18-24 & 18-49 and men 18-24 & 18-34, while new episodes of NTSF:SD:SUV:: (12:15 a.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among adults 18-34 and men 18-24 & 18-34. Both premieres increased by double-digits growth among all key adults and men vs. the same time period last year.

Sunday night's premiere episodes of Aqua TV Show Show (12 a.m.) and Squidbillies (12:15 a.m.) increased by mostly double-digits growth across adults 18-24, 18-34 & 18-49 vs. the same time period last year.

The Monday night premiere episodes of Bob's Burgers (10 p.m.) increased with all targeted adults and men vs. the same time period last year.

The Saturday night premiere episodes of Bleach (12 a.m.) ranked #1 in its timeslot among adults 18-34 and men 18-34 & 18-49; Naruto (12:30 a.m.) ranked #1 in its timeslot with adults & men 18-24 & 18-34; One Piece(1 a.m.) ranked #1 in its timeslot with men 18-24 & 18-34; Soul Eater(1:30 a.m.) ranked #1 with men 18-34 & 18-49; Sword Art Online (2 a.m.) ranked #1 with adults 18-24 & 18-34 & all key men demos. All TOONAMI premieres increased by double and triple-digit growth across the board vs. the same time period last year.

Adult Swim's programming accounted for 29 of the top 50 telecasts on basic cable for the month of August among adults 18-34, and 32 of the top 50 telecasts with men 18-34, both more than any other network.

TBS

TBS won August as basic cable's #1 network in primetime delivery of adults 18-49. The network also ranked as basic cable's #1 full-time network in primetime with adults 18-34 (#2 behind Adult Swim among all basic cable networks). TBS continues to hold position as basic cable's #1 network adults 18-34 and adults 18-49 in primetime for the year-to-date.

TBS's hit original series Sullivan & Son has scored 2.3 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery so far for last Thursday's season finale. The episode also drew more than 1.2 million adults 18-49 and 582,000 adults 18-34.

TBS's new series Deal With It continues to build on its success. Last Wednesday's episode has posted 2.2 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery (+3% vs. the prior week). In key demos, the episode has drawn 1.3 million adults 18-49 (+8%) and 711,000 adults 18-34 (+15%).

For the month of August, Big Bang Theory on TBS ranked as basic cable's #1 off-net sitcom for the month among total viewers, adults 18-34 and adults 18-49.

TNT

TNT's Rizzoli & Isles and Major Crimes closed out summer with wins as basic cable's Top 2 scripted programs for the week among total viewers. They also ranked among basic cable's Top 3 dramas for the week among adults 25-54.

Last Tuesday's episode of Rizzoli & Isles has grown to 7.7 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery, a +4% boost over the prior week. The episode has also drawn 2.6 million adults 25-54 (+4% vs. the prior week) and 2.1 million adults 18-49 (+6% vs. the prior week).

Last Monday's episode of Major Crimes has so far garnered 6.7 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery. Among key demos, it has drawn 2.1 million adults 25-54 (+2%) and 1.5 million adults 18-49 (+2%).

Tuesday's episode of Perception has attracted 5.1 million in Live + 3 delivery, a strong +9% increase vs. the prior week. Among key demos, the episode has drawn 1.9 million adults 25-54 (+8% vs. the prior week) and 1.5 million adults 18-49 (+14%).

In time-shifted viewing, TNT's Aug. 5 episode of Major Crimes drew a final Live + 7 delivery of more than 7.3 million viewers and 2.1 million adults 25-54. The Aug. 6 episode of Rizzoli & Isles topped out with 8.1 million viewers and 2.7 million adults 25-54 in Live + 7. And the Aug. 6 episode of Perception garnered 5.1 million viewers in Live + 7, including 1.8 million adults 25-54.

Cartoon Network

Across August 2013, Cartoon Network scored as the #1 television destination for boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14 among all cable & broadcast TV on Monday and Tuesday Nights (7-9 p.m.), while #1 among Boys 6-11 & 9-14 on Wednesday Nights.

Among August 2013 highlights, Regular Show (8 p.m.) ranked as the #1 program on Monday nights among boys 9-14, while ranking #1 in its time period among all boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14. Adventure Time(Monday, 7:30 p.m.), Teen Titans GO! (Tuesday, 7:30 p.m.), and The Amazing World of Gumball (Wednesday, 7:30 p.m.) each ranked #1 in their respective time periods among all boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14. Furthermore, Legends of Chima (Wednesday, 8 p.m.) ranked #1 in its timeslot among boys 6-11 & 9-14, whileMAD (Monday, 8:30 p.m.) and Johnny Test (Tuesday, 7 p.m.) ranked #1 among boys 9-14.

Saturday Morning episode premieres of Pokémon BW: Adventures in Unova (8:30 a.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among boys 9-14, while premiere episodes of Beyblade: Shogun Steel (8, 9 & 9:30 a.m.) earned delivery increases among kids 9-14 (+7%) and boys 9-14 (+1%).

truTV

truTV's hit series Lizard Lick Towing (Monday at 9 p.m.) scored remarkable growth last week, drawing a total of 2.3 million viewers, a +25% jump over the prior week. The show also garnered 1.1 million adults 18-49 (+11%) and 552,000 men 18-49 (+5%), ranking as one of ad-supported cable's Top 5 programs in the timeslot with both demos, as well as among adults 18-34 and men 18-34.

truTV's Hardcore Pawn (Tuesday at 9 p.m.) drew 1.9 million total viewers last week, with 782,000 adults 18-49. It ranked as one of ad-supported cable's Top 5 programs in the timeslot with men 18-49 (472,000) and grew its deliveries of men 18-34 by +28% and men 18-49 by +10%, compared to the prior week.

Fan favorite Impractical Jokers (Thursday at 10 p.m.) drew 1.3 million viewers last week, with 868,000 adults 18-49 and 394,000 men 18-49. The show ranked as one of basic cable's Top 5 programs in the timeslot with adults 18-34 and men 18-34 and helped fuel truTV to a Top 10 finish on ad-supported cable for the night among key male demos.
