Among Adults 18-49 in the hour, S.H.I.E.L.D. (2.7/8) beat NBC's season premiere of the Biggest Loser by 23% (2.2/7) and Fox's comedies by 93% (1.4/4). It was the #2 scripted TV show on Tuesday in Adults 18-49. The show was up week to week in Adults 18-34 (+16%), Men 18-34 (+20%) and Women 18-34 (+11%).

· After finishing premiere week as the biggest regular series gainer in the L+7 Adult 18-49 ratings (+2.3 rating points), S.H.I.E.L.D. continues to see increasing playback in the Live + 3 Day numbers (Week 3 +52% vs. Week 2 +48% vs. Week 1 +38%). A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 48% currently, from 46% at the same point in 2012. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
