USA Is #1 Cable Network in Q1 for an Unprecedented 9th Consecutive Year

USA IS #1 CABLE NETWORK IN Q1 FOR AN UNPRECEDENTED 9TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR

The Network Marks Its Youngest Quarter Since 2009

NEWYORK, NY - April, 2 2014 - For the 9th consecutive year, USA is the #1 cable network in first quarter among total viewers P2+ (2.38MM), with a double digit lead over the closest competitor. Fueled by a young audience for MODERN FAMILY, SUITS, WWE and the new reality series CHRISLEY KNOWS BEST, USA also tied for #1 in P18-34 delivery this quarter (522,000) and was one of only two networks to break 1 million in P18-49 (1.02MM) and P25-54 (1.05). The quarter was the network's youngest since 2009, with a median age of 47.4, and nearly five years younger than the network's median age in 1Q13.

A snapshot of the first quarter is below:

USA's new breakout, buzzy, reality series CHRISLEY KNOWS BEST, notched the network's largest unscripted primetime premiere P18-34 audience ever and its biggest in P18-49, P25-54, and total viewers P2+ in more than a decade.Since its premiere night, the series has shown steady growth, with double digit increases in P25-54 and total viewers P2+. To-date, the series is averaging 728,000 P18-49, 650,000 P25-54, 433,000 P18-34, and 1.20MM total viewers P2+.

Thenetwork bid farewell to the fan-favorite original series PSYCH,which in its final season was cable's most watched scripted series Wednesday nights in 1Q14, with more than 2.5 million total viewers P2+ (2.79MM), and ranked #1 for P25-54 with 1.42MM. In P18-49, the series was the #2 scripted series on cable for the night (1.40MM) and ranked 3rd in P18-34 (694,000). The March 26 series finale and live after show had a powerful social impact, with #Psychout, #Psych, and #Psychallnight ranking as three of the top five TV-related hashtags for the nigh. @Psych_USA, the show's official handle, garnered 57,046 mentions, which made it the most mentioned TV series account that night.

The slick legal drama SUITS, in its winter 3.5 season, ranked among the top 5 scripted series on cable Thursdaynights in 1Q14 with 3.22M total viewers P2+, 1.38MM P25-54 and 668,000P18-34.

Thenew original half-hour comedy SIRENS, from executive producers Denis Leary and Bob Fisher, was the top comedy series premiere this year to-date on cable with 1 million P25-54. The P18-34 audience has grown +38% since the series premiere and on average the half-hour series is delivering 708,000 P18-49, 739,000 P25-54, 387,000 P18-34, and 1.48MM total viewers P2+.

In its winter season 4.5, WHITE COLLAR was the most watched scripted series on Thursday nights in 1Q14 with 4.46MM total viewers P2+ and the #3 series on cable for P18-49 (1.62MM) and P25-54 (1.76MM).

WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW was the most watched entertainment show on cable Monday nights in 1Q14, averaging more than 4 million total viewers P2+ (4.84MM). The program was also cable's top entertainer Monday nights for male viewers in every demo (M18-49/25-54/18-34/2+). USA was the #1 network in all of television's Monday night primetime this quarter for M18-34 and outperformed every cable network in P18-49, P25-54, P18-34, and total viewers P2+.
