UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - Oct. 16, 2014 - NBC has finished #1 in the key adult 18-49 demographic for primetime week of Oct. 6-12, with the network's "Sunday Night Football" ranking #1 among primetime shows on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, total viewers, adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and other key measures. According to "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research, NBC averaged a 2.3 rating, 7 share in adults 18-49 and 8.1 million viewers overall for the week.

NBC also ranked #1 or tied for #1 for the Oct. 6-12 week among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults, men and women 18-34; men and women 18-49 and adults and women 25-54.

Note that #2 CBS was boosted this week by Thursday NFL football, which itself was boosted by NFL Network viewership (1.2 rating in 18-49, 2.719 million viewers overall Thursday night) that was added to CBS's averages.

NBC's "Sunday Night Football" was the week's #1 primetime telecast on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, as well as total viewers, adults 18-34, adults 25-54, all key adult-male demos, teens 12-17 and kids 2-11. Rankings exclude sports pre- and post-game shows.

Joining "SNF" among the week's top 25 programs in adults 18-49 on the Big 4 are Monday's "The Voice" (#4), Monday's "The Blacklist" (tied for #12), Tuesday's "Voice" encore (tied for #15) and Tuesday's "Chicago Fire" (#23).

Primetime averages for the week of Oct. 6-12 in adults 18-49 are: NBC, 2.3/7; CBS, 2.1/7; Fox, 1.8/6; ABC, 1.8/6; and CW, 0.8/3. In overall total viewers, the weekly averages were: CBS, 10.3 million; NBC, 8.1 million; ABC, 7.1 million; Fox, 5.4 million; and CW, 2.0 million.

Season-to-date averages are currently unavailable.

NBC highlights for the week of Oct. 6-12:

Monday: NBC won Monday among the Big 4 by a +27% margin in adults 18-49 (with a 3.3 rating vs. 2.6 for #2 CBS), up from the prior week's +20% margin (3.6 vs. 3.0) and a +6% win the week before that (3.7 vs. 3.5).

"The Voice" (3.8/10 in 18-49, 12.6 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) won its highly competitive two-hour time period among the Big 4 in adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus all key adult-female demos. "The Voice" was up +23% this week versus what the show was averaging at the end of last season through the May sweep in 18-49 (3.8 vs. 3.1). Through its first three weeks this fall, "The Voice" has delivered the show's three top Monday 18-49 and total-viewer results since March 24.

"Live Plus Three Day" Ratings: "The Voice" (4.49 rating in adults 18-49, 14.385 million viewers overall) grew by +19% in 18-49 (to a 4.49 from a 3.77) and 1.803 million viewers overall (to 14.385 million from 12.582 million) going from "live plus same day" ratings to "live plus three day."

"Live Plus Seven Day" Ratings: The Sept. 22 "Voice" grew in L+7 vs. L+SD by +32% in 18-49 rating (to a 5.37 from a 4.06) and 3.1 million viewers overall (16.3 million vs. 13.2 million).

"The Blacklist" (2.6/8 in 18-49, 10.1 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) ranked as the #1 drama of the night on the Big 4 in adults 18-49 on a highly competitive night that includes "Gotham," "Scorpion," "Sleepy Hollow," "Castle" and "NCIS: LA." "The Blacklist" won its hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in all key measures, topping ABC's "Castle" in adults 18-49 by +37% (2.6 vs. 1.9 and CBS's "NCIS: LA" by +53% (2.6 vs. 1.7).

L+3: "The Blacklist" (4.24 rating in adults 18-49, 15.124 million viewers overall) grew by +60% in 18-49 (to a 4.24 from a 2.65) and 5.057 million viewers overall (to 15.124 million from 10.067 million) going from L+SD to L+3. "The Blacklist" was the #1 drama of the night in L+3 adult 18-49 rating and increased its 18-49 growth for a second straight week, to +60% this week from +54% last week and +44% two weeks ago.

L+7: The Sept. 22 "Blacklist" season premiere set a new L+7 series high in total viewers, growing to 19.334 million viewers in L+7, up 6.782 million persons from its "live plus same day" result of 12.552 million. The show's previous L+7 record was 18.279 million for the series premiere on Sept. 23, 2013. The 6.782 million is a "Blacklist" series record for biggest increase going from L+SD to L+7. The Sept. 22 telecast also set a new L+7 series record in adults 18-49, achieving a 5.52, up 2.06 of a rating point or +60% (5.52 vs. 3.46). The previous "Blacklist" L+7 high in 18-49 was 5.49 on Sept. 23 and Sept. 30, 2013.

Tuesday: Despite airing an encore recap episode of "The Voice," NBC ranked #1 Tuesday night among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 for a ninth week in a row.

An encore "Best of the Blinds" recap episode of "The Voice" (2.5/8 in 18-49, 9.2 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) ranked as the #2 show of the night in 18-49, only a tenth of a point behind CBS's regular original of "NCIS" (2.6). In the two-hour time period, the encore "Best of the Blinds" edition of "The Voice" tied for #1 with CBS in adults 18-49 and ranked #1 outright in adults 18-34.

L+7: The Sept. 23 "Voice" grew in L+7 vs. L+SD by +28% in 18-49 rating (to a 5.29 from a 4.12) and more than 2.7 million viewers overall (16.0 million vs. 13.2 million).

"Chicago Fire" (2.1/7 in 18-49, 8.4 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) won the 10-11 p.m. hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus all key adult-female demos, despite an encore recap "Voice" lead-in. "Chicago Fire" retained 91% of the prior week's 2.3 rating in 18-49 despite a 46% decline in lead-in rating week to week in the 9:30 half-hour (2.5 last Tuesday vs. 4.6 the prior Tuesday). The Oct. 7 "Chicago Fire" topped CBS's "Person of Interest" by a +31% margin in 18-49 (2.1 vs. 1.6) and ABC's "Forever" by +75% (2.1 vs. 1.2).

L+3: "Chicago Fire" (3.07 rating in adults 18-49, 11.189 million viewers overall) grew by +43% in 18-49 (to a 3.07 from a 2.15 and 2.800 million viewers overall (to 11.189 million from 8.389 million) going from L+SD to L+3

L+7: The Sept. 23 "Chicago Fire" grew in L+7 vs. L+SD by +42% in 18-49 rating (to a 3.72 from a 2.62) and more than 3.5 million viewers overall (12.7 million vs. 9.2 million).

Wednesday: "The Mysteries of Laura" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 8.8 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) finished #2 in the time period in total viewers, up +76% versus NBC's regular-program average in the time period last season (8.8 million vs. 5.0 million). "The Mysteries of Laura" grew from half-hour to half-hour by +17% in adults 18-49 (to a 1.4 rating from a 1.2).

L+3: "The Mysteries of Laura" (1.63 rating in adults 18-49, 9.949 million viewers overall) grew by +22% in 18-49 (to a 1.63 from a 1.34) and 1.180 million viewers overall (to 9.949 million from 8.769 million) going from L+SD to L+3.

L+7: The Sept. 24 "Mysteries of Laura" grew in L+7 vs. L+SD by +26% in 18-49 rating (to a 2.21 from a 1.76) and 2.0 million viewers overall (12.1 million vs. 10.1 million).

"Law & Order: SVU" (1.7/5 in 18-49, 7.6 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) grew +6% versus the same night last year in 18-49 rating (1.7 vs. 1.6 on Oct. 9, 2013) and was up more than 1.2 million persons or +21% in total viewers (7.6 million vs 6.3 million). "Law & Order: SVU" built on its 18-49 lead-in by 31%.

L+3: "Law & Order: SVU" (2.53 rating in adults 18-49, 9.671 million viewers overall) grew by +51% in 18-49 (to a 2.53 from a 1.67) and 2.057 million viewers overall (to 9.671 million from 7.614 million) going from L+SD to L+3.

L+7: The Sept. 24 "SVU" grew in L+7 vs. L+SD by +58% in 18-49 rating (to a 3.41 from a 2.16) and 3.1 million viewers overall (13.2 million vs. 10.1 million).

"Chicago P.D." (1.5/5 in 18-49, 6.7 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) retained a season-high 88% of its 18-49 lead-in from "SVU" and cut its deficit to CBS's "Stalker" in the time period down to 0.2 of a point (1.7 vs. 1.5) from the prior week's 0.5 (2.0 vs. 1.5). "Chicago P.D.'s" 88% retention of its lead-in compares with 74% for "Stalker" (1.7 vs. 2.3 for "Criminal Minds") and 50% for ABC's "Nashville" (1.4 vs. 2.8 for "Black-ish").

L+3: "Chicago P.D." (2.30 rating in adults 18-49, 9.067 million viewers overall) grew by +54% in 18-49 (to a 2.30 from a 1.49) and 2.393 million viewers overall (to 9.067 million from 6.674 million) going from L+SD to L+3.

L+7: The Sept. 24 "Chicago P.D." grew in L+7 vs. L+SD by +60% in 18-49 rating (to a 3.08 from a 1.92) and 3.4 million viewers overall (12.0 million vs. 8.6 million).

Thursday: "The Biggest Loser" (1.2/4 in 18-49, 4.6 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) retained 92% of the prior week's 1.3 in 18-49, retained 99% in total viewers (4.606 million vs. 4.643 million).

L+3: The prior week's "Biggest Loser" on Oct. 2 (1.65 rating in adults 18-49, 5.348 million viewers overall) grew by +25% in 18-49 (to a 1.65 from a 1.32) and 705,000 viewers overall (to 5.348 million from 4.643 million) going from L+SD to L+3.

L+7: The Sept. 25 "Biggest Loser" grew in L+7 vs. L+SD by +35% in 18-49 rating (to a 1.93 from a 1.43) and 1.1 million viewers overall (5.9 million vs. 4.8 million).

"Bad Judge" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 5.2 million viewers overall from 9-9:30 p.m. ET) retained 100% of the prior week's premiere rating in adults 18-49 (1.3 vs. 1.3), making it the first debuting comedy on the Big 4 this season to maintain 100% of its debut rating in week two. For the traditional 2013-14 season, only one of 20 premiering comedies on the Big 4 maintained its premiere rating in week two (ABC's "Mixology,"1.7 vs. 1.7). This week's "Bad Judge" built on the prior hour's rating from "The Biggest Loser" by +8% in 18-49 rating, up from the prior week, when the "Bad Judge" debut matched its "Biggest Loser" lead-in. The 1.3 for "Bad Judge" equaled NBC's top 18-49 rating in the slot with in-season regular programming since Nov. 7, 2013.

L+3: The previous week's "Bad Judge" on Oct. 2 (1.85 rating in adults 18-49, 7.304 million viewers overall) grew by +40% in 18-49 (to a 1.85 from a 1.32) and 1.463 million viewers overall (to 7.304 million from 5.841 million) going from L+SD to L+3.

"A-to-Z" (1.0/3 in 18-49, 3.6 million viewers overall from 9:30-10 p.m. ET) retained 77% of its lead-in from "Bad Judge" in adults 18-49, held 88% in adults 18-34 (0.7 vs. 0.8) and retained 91% in women 18-34 (1.0 vs. 1.1).

L+3: The prior week's "A-to-Z" on Oct. 2 (1.54 rating in adults 18-49, 5.588 million viewers overall) grew by +27% in 18-49 (to a 1.54 from a 1.21) and 797,000 viewers overall (to 5.588 million from 4.791 million) going from L+SD to L+3.

"Parenthood" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 4.3 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) retained 100% of the prior week's rating in adults 18-49. From its first half-hour to its second, last night's "Parenthood" maintained or grew in every key measure, despite the 10 p.m. hour. Versus the same night last year, "Parenthood" was up +8% in 18-49 (1.3 vs. 1.2 on Oct. 10, 2013) and up +25% in total viewers (4.3 million vs. 3.4 million).

L+3: The previous week's "Parenthood" on Oct. 2 (2.19 rating in adults 18-49, 6.499 million viewers overall) grew by +66% in 18-49 (to a 2.19 from a 1.32) and 2.2 million viewers overall (to 6.5 million from 4.3 million) going from L+SD to L+3.

L+7: The Sept. 25 "Parenthood" grew in L+7 vs. L+SD by +83% in 18-49 rating (to a 2,53 from a 1.38) and 2.8 million viewers overall (7.1 million vs. 4.3 million).

Upscale: "Parenthood" is the #1 most upscale primetime series on the Big 4 networks in "most current" L+3 results through the opening two weeks of the season, indexing at a 173 among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes (100 represents an average concentration of those homes).

Versus the same night last year, NBC was up on Thursday night by +9% in adult 18-49 rating (to a 1.2 from a 1.1) and by +31% in total viewers (4.428 million vs. 3.392 million)

Friday: An encore telecast of "Bad Judge" delivered a 0.7/3 in 18-49 and 3.6 million viewers overall from 8-8:30 p.m. ET and a rebroadcast of "A to Z" averaged a 0.5/2 in 18-49 and 2.1 million viewers overall from 8:30-9 p.m. ET.

"Dateline NBC" averaged a 1.1/4 in 18-49 and 5.2 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Dateline" grew by +33% in adults 18-49 (to a 1.2 rating from a 0.9), to tie for #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in that half-hour

L+3: The prior week's Friday "Dateline NBC" on Oct. 3 (1.37 rating in adults 18-49, 6.146 million viewers overall) grew by +20% in 18-49 (to a 1.37 from a 1.14) and 695,000 viewers overall (to 6.146 million from 5.451 million) going from L+SD to L+3.

L+7: The Sept. 26 "Dateline" grew in L+7 vs. L+SD by +23% in 18-49 rating (to a 1.73 from a 1.41) and 1.1 million viewers overall (8.0 million vs. 6.9 million).

Saturday: Encore telecasts of " The Mysteries of Laura" (0.5/2 in 18-49, 2.3 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET; 0.6/2 in 18-49, 3.1 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) grew from their first hour to their second by +20% in adults 18-49, +33% in adults 25-54 (to a 0.8 from a 0.6) and +67% in women 25-54 (1.0 vs. 0.6).

"SNL Vintage" (0.7/2 in 18-49, 2.7 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) featuring an encore of an April 21, 1990 telecast of "Saturday Night Live" with host Alec Baldwin and musical guest The B-52s, grew from half-hour to half-hour in every key measure despite the 10 p.m. hour, including gains of +14% in adults 18-49 (to a 0.8 from a 0.7) and +11% in adults 25-54 (1.0 vs. 0.9).

Sunday: NBC Sports' "Sunday Night Football" (6.6/18 in 18-49, 18.1 million viewers overall from 8:31-11:20 p.m. ET), featuring the New York Giants at the Philadelphia Eagles, led NBC to nightlong wins among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in every key measure.

For the night (from 7:30-11 p.m. ET), NBC averaged a 5.6 rating in 18-49 and 15.7 million viewers overall, giving it a +22% margin over #2 Fox in nightlong 18-49 averages among the Big 4 (5.6 from 7:30-11 p.m. for NBC vs. 4.6 from 7-10 for Fox) and a +28% advantage in total viewers (15.7 million vs. 12.3 million for Fox).
