Friday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Leads Repeat Driven Night

Here are the highlights of the 10 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (12/29/17):

NBC (4.435 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.8, #1) was the network to beat on a repeat heavy Friday with "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (3.293 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T5) and "Dateline NBC" (5.007 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.9, #1).

ABC (3.844 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #2) then claimed the silver with a repeat "Shark Tank" (4.042 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #2) and special two-hour "In an Instant" (3.746 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3).

Next up was CBS (4.416 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T3) with a special "48 Hours" (4.771 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3) followed by repeats of "MacGyver" (4.114 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T5) and "Blue Bloods" (4.365 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T8).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.783 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T3) served up second runs of "Hell's Kitchen" (1.779 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T8) and another "Hell's Kitchen" (1.787 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T5).

And finally, a rebroadcast of "iHeartRadio Music Festival, Night 2" (0.758 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.2, #10) on The CW (0.758 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) rounded out the night.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.5/3 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.2/1 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.1/4 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.0/3 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/2 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.2/1 with an encore.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (12/30/16):

NBC (3.848 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T1) and ABC (4.242 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T1) shared in the demo honors as the former served up "Caught on Camera with Nick Cannon" (2.839 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T7) and "Dateline NBC" (4.353 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.9, #1).

The Alphabet then served up repeats of "Last Man Standing" (4.688 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T3), "Dr. Ken" (3.323 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T7) and "Shark Tank" (3.628 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T3) plus a new "20/20" (5.094 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #2).

Next up was CBS (5.098 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.6, #3) with repeats of "MacGyver" (4.529 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T5), "Hawaii Five-0" (5.241 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T7) and "Blue Bloods" (5.525 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T5).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.729 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.4, #4) offered up second runs of "Bones" (2.111 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.4, #10) and "Sleepy Hollow" (1.347 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T11).

And finally on The CW (0.989 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5), an encore of "iHeartRadio Music Festival - Night 1" (0.989 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T11) closed out the night.
