'Nightline' Posts Increases in Total Viewers This Season

ABC News' "Nightline" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (752,000) and Adults 25-54 (174,000) during the week of May 8, 2023, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research.

"Nightline" saw week-to-week increases in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+6% - 752,000 vs. 709,000), Adults 25-54 (+7% - 174,000 vs. 162,000) and Adults 18-49 (+17% - 117,000 vs. 100,000).

Season to date, "Nightline" is growing compared to the same point last season in Total Viewers (+4% - 905,000 vs. 872,000). In addition, "Nightline" leads CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in all key target demos.

This week, "Nightline" covered Linsey Davis' exclusive interview with the family of a 6-year-old who shot his teacher; the shooting at Allen Premium Outlets in Texas; Jean Carroll's rape case against Donald Trump; this year's Miami Grand Prix; uncertainty looming ahead of the expiration of Title 42; Westminister's dog show; George Santos pleading not guilty to federal charges; co-anchor Byron Pitt's interview with "Fast X" star Ludacris; the "Impact x Nightline" interview with controversial fitness influencer Liver King; the criminal charges against Daniel Penny for the chokehold death of a fellow passenger on the NYC subway and more.

NOTE: CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" was retitled to "The Late Late Show-JC-ENC" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" was retitled to "Seth Meyers-SM." The retitled telecasts are excluded from the season averages.
