CBS FINALES DOMINATE IN LIVE+7 VIEWERSHIP
Network Posts 16 of the Top 25 Shows with Highest 7+Day Lift in Season Finales - TRACKER, BLUE BLOODS and ELSBETH Finales Top Three
YOUNG SHELDON Posts its Largest L+7 in Four Years
CBS' May finales experienced significant increases with Live+7 Day viewing, currently having 16 of the top 25 shows with the highest seven-day lift. TRACKER (+3.6m), BLUE BLOODS (+2.75m) and ELSBETH (estimated +2.73m) had the top three largest seven-day lifts of television's spring finales. The YOUNG SHELDON series finale reached its largest L+7 audience in four years (since April 30, 2020).
Several additional shows had substantial percentage L+7 lifts, including FBI: MOST WANTED (+59%), THE AMAZING RACE (+55%), ELSBETH (+57%), BLUE BLOODS (+52%), TRACKER (+47%), FBI: INTERNATIONAL (+42), NCIS (+39%), FIRE COUNTRY (+36%) and FBI (+34%). (Source: Nielsen Live+7 Day % lift vs. L+SD.)
In addition to winning the 2023-2024 television season in total viewers for the 16th consecutive season, CBS also maintained its position as the #1 network in Live+7 delayed viewing. CBS averages 5.67m L+7 viewers, ahead of #2 NBC (4.86m), #3 ABC (4.29m) and #4 FOX (3.15m).
More CBS May Finale Highlights:
· TRACKER season one finale (May 19), averaged 11.25m live+7 day viewers, a +3.6m (+47%) lift. The Live+7 average for TRACKER's finale was up +10% from its 9:00 P.M. premiere on Sunday, Feb. 18. Across its debut season, TV's #1 show has averaged 11.54m Live+7 day viewers.
· BLUE BLOODS season 14 finale (May 17), averaged 8.00m Live+7 day viewers, a +2.75m (+52%) lift.
· ELSBETH season one finale (May 23), averaged an estimated* 7.54m Live+7 day viewers, a +2.73m (+57%) lift. ELSBETH's season finale L7 was up from its STD average. In its debut season, ELSBETH averaged an estimated 7.45m L7 viewers, ranking as the #2 new series on TV and is a top 10 drama overall. · YOUNG SHELDON series finale (May 16), averaged 11.74m Live+7 Day viewers, a +2.42m (+26%) lift and +15% above the season-to-date L7 average. This was also its largest L+7 audience since April 30, 2020. YOUNG SHELDON ended its run as the #1 comedy on TV.
· FBI: MOST WANTED season five finale (May 21), averaged 6.56m Live+7 day viewers, a +59% lift.
· THE AMAZING RACE season 36 finale (May 15), averaged 4.43m Live+7 Day viewers, a +55% lift.
· FBI: INTERNATIONAL season three finale (May 21), averaged 6.39m Live+7 day viewers, +42% lift.
· NCIS season 21 finale (May 6), averaged 8.96m Live+7 day viewers, a +39% lift. NCIS is the #2 non-sports program on television and has been the #1 or #2 broadcast drama on TV for six seasons.
· FIRE COUNTRY season two finale (May 17), averaged 7.12m Live+7 day viewers, a +36% lift.
· FBI season six finale (May 21), averaged 8.24m Live+7 day viewers, a +34% lift. FBI ranks as the #3 drama in total viewers on TV with 8.82m viewers this season, only behind CBS' TRACKER and NCIS.
· SURVIVOR season 46 finale (May 22), averaged 6.00m Live+7 day viewers, a +33% lift. SURVIVOR finished the 2023-2024 season as the #1 non-sports primetime program among A18-34, A18-49 and A25-54.
· GHOSTS season three finale (May 2), averaged 7.92m live+7 day viewers, a +33% lift. GHOSTS is the #2 comedy on television behind YOUNG SHELDON. Its Live+7 viewers more than doubled the closest network competitor (ABBOTT ELEMENTARY, 3.79m) across the full season.
