50th Season Premiere of "Saturday Night Live" on Sept. 28 Draws 5.3 Million Viewers on NBC in Live Same-Day Viewing, The Most for a Season Premiere Since 2020

MEDIA ALERT: "SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE"

· The 50th season premiere of "Saturday Night Live" on Sept. 28, hosted by Jean Smart and musical guest Jelly Roll, drew 5.3 million viewers on NBC in live same-day viewing, the most for a season premiere since 2020.

· The episode ranks as the most-watched "SNL" ever on Peacock through the first weekend.

· The cold open featured Dana Carvey, Jim Gaffigan, Maya Rudolph and Andy Samberg.

· "SNL" returns Oct. 5 with host Nate Bargatze and musical guest Coldplay.

· In addition to the broadcast on NBC (11:30pm ET/ 8:30pm PT) , "SNL" streams live on Peacock. Stream every season of "SNL" now on Peacock.

· "SNL" will mark its 50th anniversary with a celebratory weekend culminating in a live primetime special on Sunday, Feb. 16.

· "Saturday Night Live" is produced in association with Broadway Video. The creator and executive producer is Lorne Michaels.
