New York Yankees visit Boston Red Sox this Week on Sunday Night Baseball at 7 p.m. ET on NBC & Peacock

STAMFORD, Conn. - June 25, 2026 - NBC Sports' presentation of the New York Mets-Philadelphia Phillies NL East matchup on June 21 was the most-watched Sunday Night Baseball game since 2013 (excluding season openers) averaging 3.0 million viewers on NBC and Peacock, based on official Nielsen Big Data + Panel and digital data from Adobe Analytics.

Despite a 5-0 Philadelphia lead after two innings, Mets-Phillies was the most watched non-season opening Sunday Night Baseball game since Yankees-Red Sox on August 18, 2013 - a stretch of 285 regular-season Sunday night games (excluding season openers). The Yankees won that matchup 9-6 as Alex Rodriguez homered and had three of the team's 17 hits, while C.C. Sabathia picked up his 11th win of the season. The game averaged 3.1 million viewers.

In addition, Mets-Phillies is the most watched regular-season Sunday Night Baseball game at any point in the season since the 2017 season opener (4/2/17) featuring the Chicago Cubs - who six months earlier won their first World Series in 108 years - visiting the rival St. Louis Cardinals (3.6 million viewers). The Cardinals won the game 4-3 with a run in the bottom of the ninth after the Cubs tied the game with three runs in the top of the inning.

Sunday Night Baseball continues this Sunday, June 28 at 7 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock, as the New York Yankees visit the Boston Red Sox in the first matchup between the teams on NBC since 1995.
