(from MTV's press release, October 2011) "Cuff'd" is the half-hour documentary series that provides viewers with a fly-on-the-wall perspective of what happens on the ride to the precinct after young offenders are arrested. Serving as a cautionary tale, "Cuff'd" takes viewers front and center as these young people begin to process the consequences of their actions. Each episode features approximately six different young perpetrators from distinct regions of the country engaging with their arresting officers as they ride in police cruisers on the way to central booking. These interactions are both revealing and intense, as youth offenders open up about their lives and process the mistakes that have brought them to this critical point - while police officers offer advice and guidance. Although most of the suspects featured are first-time offenders - the uncertainty of their predicaments often creates deeply emotional, dramatic, and humorous responses that serve as windows into the lives of young people who have veered off-course.
