DESCRIPTION:
(from Discovery's press release, June 2010) In the heart of the Midwestern corn-belt, a grassroots racing scene as passionate and dangerous as any in the country is thriving. It is a community fueled by the love of America, the love of family, and the love of racing. HEARTLAND THUNDER follows four people who live just outside of Kansas City, KS, and live for one thing: Friday night dirt track racing! Tim Karrick, Justin Boney, Tom Charles and his son Dan Charles are driven by the thrill of speed and competition. Amidst holding down working-man jobs and devoting time to their loyal families, we'll see them spend long days and short nights in their garages re-tooling their engines and re-building their "modified" cars during the week, all in hopes of finding glory on Friday nights.
