STARZ SETS PREMIERE DATE FOR SEASON THREE OF "THE GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE" ON MAY 2

Starz announced today that the third season of the critically-acclaimed anthology series "The Girlfriend Experience" from Academy Award(R)-winning filmmaker Steven Soderbergh (Ocean's Eleven, Contagion) will premiere on Sunday, May 2 across all STARZ platforms including on STARZ at 8:00PM ET/PT. The official trailer and key art were also released out of the third season's debut at South by Southwest (SXSW). Written and directed by internationally acclaimed filmmaker Anja Marquardt (She's Lost Control), executive produced by Philip Fleishman ("The Girlfriend Experience") and starring Julia Goldani Telles ("The Affair"), "The Girlfriend Experience" season three will be available on STARZ in the U.S. and Canada, also airing day and date on the STARZPLAY International streaming service across Europe, Latin America and Japan.
"The Girlfriend Experience" made its third season World Premiere as an Official Selection of SXSW today. The first two episodes will be available for all SXSW Virtual Festival goers to watch for the duration of the festival.
The third installment of "The Girlfriend Experience" is set amidst the London tech scene and focuses on Iris (Telles), a neuroscience major. As she begins to explore the transactional world of The Girlfriend Experience, Iris quickly learns that her client sessions provide her with a compelling edge in the tech world and vice versa. She then begins to question whether her actions are driven by free will, or something else altogether, and heads down a deep path of exploration.
Soderbergh and Fleishman executive produce the series with Jeff Cuban (The China Hustle). Marquardt also serves as co-executive producer. The 10-episode scripted anthology series is a Transactional Pictures of NY LP production in association with Extension 765 and Magnolia Pictures.
"The Girlfriend Experience" is the latest series on STARZ that exemplifies the network's commitment to spotlighting premium stories and narratives by, about and for women and underrepresented audiences through its #TakeTheLead initiative.
